Anyone have experience with Disney's Magic Music Days?

DS and his HS marching band are going in January and we are trying to figure out what the kids can expect from marching in the parade, the soundtrack session and the percussion master class. Any experiences you can share (with pics if possible) would be fantastic!

I went last May with my oldest and his high school band. They are a concert band, so they didn't march, they performed at Carnation Plaza. His favorite part by far though was the recording session. He said it was really neat! They are not allowed to take any pictures when they go backstage though, and only the band and teacher were allowed, so I've just had to rely on his descriptions.

The band is already counting down for their next trip (they go every other year) and this time our oldest 3 will be going.

Disneyland's Magic Music Days are open to groups year round. So if you are asking if it is a big event that thousands of bands flock to, no it isn't. Each group picks their own dates.

I remember doing this in HS back in the dark ages

Being backstage was much less exciting than it sounded. We didn't see anything or anyone, but I do remember that they said no pictures. They didn't want pictures out and about of Donald with his head off or something. We marched, but it was pretty short, again it was the dark ages so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

I'm going to DLR in March with my high school band. We'll probably be doing these workshops too!
