wouldn't these be awesome with old vintage photos?

I have seen similar made into charm bracelets too

Maggie,

Not that you need anymore ideas but the microscope slides make beautiful christmas ornaments for a tabletop tree too!

There are squeeze tubes of simulated leading that actually looks like the real thing. You can use it in place of the silver foil and get a real leaded look. These are NOT the cheap, rubbery ones made by Gallery Glass or Plaid. These actually look & feel enough like authentic metal lead when dried.

The companies are Pebeo Vitrial and L&B. You can find the tubes at some Michael's Arts & Crafts & finer art supply stores in the glass paint/craft sections.

Pebeo calls their tubes "outliners". The silver looks closest to traditional glass leading. Pebeo Outliner

Here is a fuzzy picture of how you can make squiggles & doodles over your glass also for decrations. Or to outline small rhinestones, wire, or charms already glued down to the glass. Pebeo squiggles

Here is a link for the L & B simulated leading: L & B Simulated leading

Here is another link for pendant ideas that I like:

Oh, btw, cutting glass, especially when they are as thin as the microslides is easy. You can get a simple glass cutter from any hardware store for about $3. Just dip the wheel end of the cutter in vegetable oil, & "score" the glass with the wheel (like drawing a straight line with a pencil & ruler) then snap along the line. A little sandpaper to smooth down rough edges, and your done. This way, you can make square charms or cut off the corners for new shapes.
