Anyone have an old iPod Nano? If so, read this.

We had two 4 GB, I wonder if we will get 8's or 16's.

Don't have a photo to share. It's silver. I think my old one was 4GB, so I figure they're just sending out 8GB ones. Probably the least memory they come with now.

I just don't know if I can do it! I love my early ipod that clicks when you look for songs I need to decide today...I hate making decisions!

I have to decide, too, DS is using that old iPod..... and will not want to go without for a month or so while this switch goes thru.

After reading your post, we confirmed on line that our two gen 1 ipods were part of the replacement program and we registered to receive the boxes. That was on November 18th. The box for our first one arrived on 12/23 and it was confirmed as "pending replacement" on 12/24. We did not receive an email or confirmation and the website was not updated with the status when it was mailed. The new ipod arrived TODAY. It is a Gen 6 model, 8G, silver. AWESOME.

The second ipod we received an envelope for about 2 days ago. We mailed it back today. This one hadn't really worked for a while because the battery didn't hold a charge at all.

Both ipods were 4 Gs.

It took us a month to get the boxes but less than a week to send the replacements after we mailed them. We recieved silver 8g nano with 90 day warranty.

I got the email and a phone call from Fed Ex today. Ours will be delivered tomorrow and someone needs to be here to sign for it. We sent it out via Fed Ex ground, from the FedEx store, just 2 weeks ago. That's not bad, considering there's a holiday in there, too.

DD (15) said according to the email, her ipod should be here today. So we stayed (thanks to this thread) knowing we had to sign for it... and around 7pm I heard some "odd" noises. banging, metal... I opened the door to see a Budget Rent a car - truck/van in front of our house... How odd! but, it was 7 pm, and we do have neighbors, so I closed the door, and "DING DONG"

It was the ipod same as others here - the silver ipod, dd is on the computer with her new ipod and her itunes library!

I didn't recieve any emails from apple. I just kept checking the status on the apple page. It took a week from the time I mailed it to apple to the time I recieved a silver 8g. We had three returned and all three new ones were silver.

Well, clearly silver was not selling as a new color. I did (under great pressure) cave and send mine in. Not looking forward to silver, square new nano. Guess one of the kids will get it! Also guess that silver color will be retired with new generation.

I sent mine in on Dec 23rd but my repair status still says service requested...

I also sent mine back on 12/23 and my status still says box shipped. I was concerned that FedEx lost it before it got to California. I don't have the tracking number for the return shipping label. I only have the tracking number on the receipt which is for the shipment to my house. Fingers crossed that it is only a delay due to the holidays.
