Anyone have an old iPod Nano? If so, read this.

I filled it out November 25th, and mine still says pending. No box yet. On the website it says you should receive your new one 6 weeks after they receive your old one.

I received the 3 return boxes and sent 2 back in the next day. That was a week or so ago but have not heard anything from Apple.

My email from Apple shows the date of 11/14 so I've been waiting almost a month for a box. Color me less than impressed.

Ditto here - email shows my "repair request date" was 11/16 and I've also got a whole lot of nuttin' in the box department. Surprised at Apple, IME, this is sooooooooo not like them. :sad2:

My request date was on 11/14 and I just got the box last Thursday 12/8. I sent it back the same day.

Put our request in the day before Thanksgiving. Just got the box today via Fed Ex.

I haven't gotten anything yet, I submitted before Thanksgiving as well. I couldn't get my screenshot to work that day so I took a pic with my iPhone, lost my pic d/t water damage to my phone...yada, yada, I no longer have my confirmation #(never got an email either{yes I have this kind of bad luck all the time}).
Is there any way to check it??

I submitted my request the same date, but nothing's come as yet.

My online status says "Step 2 Service - Diagnosis pending" so maybe my iPod wasn't on the list. Ah well, good things come to those who wait.

Submitted request on November 14, received return instructions and package today, December 14.

I sent my initial request on November 12th and got the box on December 7th.

I shipped it Monday, so who knows WHEN I'll see the replacement. My daughter is completely bummed, as it still worked and had all our Xmas music, but I'm all about the new Nano as I know it was on it's last leg.

Success (kinda) after a month of waiting. Last night, Apple sent me a...bubble bag mailer and a teeny plastic bag! But, at least it is a step in the right direction. Did they give up on the boxes or...? I'll be mailing my Nano back today.

They must have given up on the boxes - it was silly really - why they didnt just let us download a shipping label and use our own box?

I mean to send a plastic bag AND a piece of tape?!!

I think dh read it could take 4 - 8 weeks for repair! So we'll know more in ... February? March?

patience is a virtue.

It is fun to speculate what the repairs will consist of considering some of these ipods were personalized with an engraving on them...

I requested my packaging on 11/15 and the padded envelope came over this past weekend, so it was a one-month wait for me. I think they ran out of boxes.

NOTE: the mailing envelope that the label comes in should be opened carefully or you'll rip the label/letter. (Ask me how I know. :lmao: ) You are supposed to reuse that envelope to send the iPod. Environmentally-friendly, which is fine. Be sure to have the return label completely cover the original label and remove any other labels or the package may go astray.

The instructions say to back up the iPod before you send it, but for some reason my iPod died when I connected it to iTunes over the weekend. It's the strangest thing: like it knew I was sending it back and it was protesting, lol. Very suspicious. I'm going to try using the iHome to charge it and see if I can bring it back to life long enough to back it up.

The backup only captures the settings, right? I have to back up any purchases and photos separately, correct? (How do I do that?)

Just received an email that my replacement shipped out today. Should arrive within two business days. Wonder what it'll be???

Well, I finally got the box for shipping and now we can't find the ipod! DD brought it down to me when we input the numbers and now it's missing. I'm hoping it's under the couch or someplace silly and didn't get tossed out w/the papers or something. ugh.

And the rep told me that they are shipping pretty much everything they have available as a replacement. He said that based on the serial number I gave him my replacement should be the latest generation, either an 8 or a 16 gb. Interesting to see what arrives! I'll go remember to post here. Oh yeah, he said that you have to be home to sign for it.

Got my box Friday (waited about a month), sent it back on Saturday. Wonder what the replacement will be?

Just got my package yesterday to send back. I want to get back what I'm sending in.....kids gave me touch for my bday and I have a 4th gen. I Love my first gen!! I find it hard to believe they are sending an upgraded generation- other people have posted that they have got back a first gen in exchange. Don't see how apple could determine who would get an upgraded iPod and who wouldn't. That would be horrible PR.

I just got a plain yellow padded envelope yesterday.. no box, and limited instructions. Personally while I like the look of the first gen Nanos, I wouldn't be opposed to getting a newer version. Since they weren't being used anymore, these Ipods were more of a fancy USB than anything else in the house. One was in a drawer!-- we had two under the warranty.
