Anyone have a Sony VAIO?

Do you like it? (hope you say yes since I just spent a fortune)

Anyway I just got this desktop to replace my poor overworked laptop. Going through the set-up process now and its getting "stuck" on this page (where it asks how to connect to the internet). It's been like 20 minutes and nothing. Did this happen to you??

I have a Sony Vaio (about 1.5 years old now) and I do not recall it getting hung up anywhere during the set up of it.

But I do love it a lot, and glad I got it

even though it said I could "skip" that access the internet page, could that be hanging me up? I have to install my wireless adapter software before I can get online. grr, what a pain!

I have a Vaio notebook. Also about a year and a half. I love it. Never a problem and performs like a champ! Is it getting stuck on a Sony web page? Perhaps it's an issue with the web site and not the computer.

It could possibly be that... it's honestly been so long I don't remember that part of the set up. Can you close out of it, start over and skip the connection part? Shouldn't be too big of a deal to do

I'm not online yet. In fact, I'm still inputting information (name, where I bought it,etc). I was just giving them random marketing info and I came to this page that wanted me to tell it how to connect to the internet, and when I said 'skip', it kinda froze. i can still move the mouse, but all my icons 'next', 'skip' and 'back' arent highlighted.

I shut it off and it came back to this page and I got stuck again. This definitely doesn't look like it's supposed to be happening (never taken this long on any of my other computers before)

OK, I was able to figure it out! When it booted back up, I had to go back and skip that entire registration process. I went to the Sony website and they said there was a hangup with Roxio CD Creator. Thanks everyone! I feel much better now (I was so worried I'd made a huge financial mistake!!)

Glad you have it working right!!! Roxio is nice software (easy to use) but boy is it not very stable!!! I am glad you are feeling better too... but I wouldn't trade my Sony Vaio in and neither would my dad (who has had his longer). Enjoy it

I would never buy a SONY VIAO laptop or desktop. More problems than you can imagine with them. Substandard mainboards so very poor upgradeability. Sony specified memory and so on. also watch out for the hard drives as they have had some major issues witht hem in the not so recent past.

We have a Sony VAIO and we love it! We've had it for about 2 1/2 years and never (excuse me while I go knock on some wood...) had a problem with it. DH works with computers and researched our purchase before we bought. I would buy another VAIO in a heartbeat.
