Hi!
I always loved the Disney embossed faces set but just never got around to purchasing it and now my mom found 2 of the pieces. I wanted opinions on the largest piece before I have her purchase it for me for Christmas.
I noticed the linear dimensions are 61.5" which is under the 62" that is allowed on Delta and most airlines.
Is it super big and does it get really heavy fast which would put us over the allowed 50lbs. quickly?
I would love opinions on the Heys 30" spinners.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Tip: luggage manufacturers measure the actual suitcase. Airlines measure everything, including the wheels and handles.

Had several Heys, but they got crushed on DCL, so we invested in Haliburton bags. They are pricey, but they have a lifetime guarantee that we have tested and found to be very, very good. We will probably only buy Halliburton from now on. The nice thing is, no matter how hard I try, I cannot overstuff them to become overweight. We do still have Mickey Heys bags, using them only when we aren't sailing, as shipboard stack luggage floor-to-ceiling on top of each other and rather crush the ones on the bottom. Hope you find your own favorites.

I called Heys and was told the measurements included the wheels so hopefully they were being truthful. If not I'll be very upset. :confused3

Thanks for your replies!!!

I bought the Heys 30", 26" and carry on bag for our trip in November. I haven't used any of the pieces yet but am also concerned about the 30". It is HUGE, in fact I have already 3/4 packed and it only weighs 25lb. All the pieces do seem kind of flimsy for the price, I hope they hold up. We are flying Southwest and I am going to be prepared to pay the 50.00 if needed but REALLY hate to!!!! I wish I had bought 2 of the 26" instead.

Thanks sheilanne for your reply.
Wow... 3/4 full and only 25lbs. sounds pretty good but the kind of flimsy part does not.
Are you concerned about the weight or the dimensions? Is it really 30" tall including the wheels?
Thanks again, I appreciate any and all of your thoughts!!! :thumbsup2

DS flies twice a year from Australia to Canada and his 3 year old Heys Spinner Luggage is still looking great! In fact, I just swapped him, my new Canadian Flag set for his Blue Python and will be taking the 30 inch when I fly JetBlue in November to WDW. He always flies Qantas and American Airlines and has no problems with either airline, charging him for oversize luggage! I really like the carry on size, as it also has the spinner wheels. :thumbsup2

We flew this summer with all three sizes we did go over weight by 2 lbs so we just readjusted the bags to avoid fees. We also did not get charged for over size

It really is flimsy. If I had saved my ticket I probably would have returned the 2 larger pieces. The color is bronze and they are so pretty, but expensive for the quality. The measurements do not fit Southwest guidelines, if you measure wheels etc. I do love the carry on!!!!! LOL. Hope you find the perfect set.

Are you talking about the silver ones with Mickey, Minnie, and Donald? I bought all 3 last year and returned the 2 bigger ones. Only use Mickey. They scratch really easy. Used the Mickey and checked it one time and forget it. I use it for carry on now. They are light and hold a lot.

I got a 3 pc set for $199.00 last year, and I like them. I've only used them on 1 airline trip to WDW but they didn't scratch. They are a lighter colour though, so they did get scuff marks on them but cleaned up good. Whenever my DH looks at them he says how flimsey they are, but they seem to be standing up just fine. I packed the 30" with lighter things, and the 26 with heavier things. That way I didn't go over the 50lb per bag rule. They manuver very well. The spinner wheels are an improvement over the other wheels.

I just traveled with 3 very colorful Heyes spinners. All three are 62 linear inches including wheels, handles, etc. Packed, all three were just under 50 pounds but bring a luggage scale as one was 55 pounds so we moved stuff around. Seemed to hold up fine round trip. Purchased at Marshalls for $80 each. We had no problem finding our luggage! We have the 26 inch Disney ones, but they aren't much bigger than a carry on. We used them to fly Spirit, which has a max limit of 40 pounds per suitcase.
