Anyone happy with their BCV view?

Hi. We were in room 368 in a two bedroom overlooking the pool and canal. I thought it was a great view, especially at night, as you can see by the picture in my signature. It was always very quiet, even with people down at the pool, and it was a very quick walk to Epcot, going out the back elevator, and cutting through the back way past the Beach Club and out the wrought iron gate. We only went through the BC lobby when we were going to MGM.

We were in a first floor studio, but I cannot remember the room number. Although we didn't have a view of the pool or Epcot, the courtyard that we could see was nicely landscaped. We were just glad that we could get a room for the Grand Opening of BCV on very short notice. We have never been too picky about room assignments (other than non-smoking), so we just enjoy whatever view we get. If I were able to choose, I think that I would love to have a first floor pool view room so that I could just walk straight out of my room and into the pool.

I loved my stay at the BCV in October ; That being said the View was bad. We had a view of the service road. This is a great resort in all though. I just got the feeling that The Villas were behind the Beach Club. One thing I do remember is the walk from the lobby to our room. We had to go down the hallway past the store to another foyer that took you through a great dayroom. From there we had to walk across a courtyard; go into the DVC building through a rotunda back out of the building past the quiet pool into the side door where there was an elevator. Took the elevator to the 3Rd floor and I was home. That was the shortcut (direct route).

It's interesting here that everyone has a different idea about what view is "good" or at least "acceptable." I was originally assigned to a room near that service road and while the view itself was bad, what made the room unacceptable to me was the proximity of our patio doors TO that road. I have two little ones and the closeness of a road with big vehicles just freaked me out.

Earlier someone expressed dissatisfaction with room #78 (I forget what floor). Because it is literally the last room down the hallway, it has a view (at least partially) of the parking lot. Yet when I visited I made a note to request this room or one near it, because a side door leads right to the handicapped parking spaces. If I was traveling with my parents, this room would be a blessing for them.

To each his own! Every room has pros and cons and overall the resort impressed me greatly.

Hi queenofhearts.:D Our room was a dedicated two bedroom. We requested a first floor pool view and non-smoking and were very happy with our room. It was me, my DH, my two sons, 21 & 22, my 22 yo DS's girlfriend, my 21 YO DS's friend, also 21, and my 16 yo DD. We had plenty of room, and everyone loved it. Although I've made room requests before, this is the first time I ever got most of what I asked for. I've always wanted to be able to walk right out of my room to the pool, but so far it hasn't happened.

It's curious how many people were in the vicinity of my room. Glad I was quiet.

Anyway...my view/location had its plusses and minuses. The first thing that bothered me was the service road. However the traffic is lighter than other Disney roads but I definitely wouldn't describe it as unused. If I were stressed out the sheer number of rooms with service road views and pool views would be enough to make me pick another resort. On the plus side that same service road was over the canal so I got to watch the water wildlife...I didn't see an alligator however.

Room 375 had a great view of the aerial portions of illuminations. As far as I can tell most of the service road views would have the same great view. This room was also sheltered from the rain....it would have to be horizontal to stop you from sitting on the balcony. And this room was also right around the corner from the pool elevator...it seems like anything in the 70's is nicely accessible to the pool, the store, front desk and cars if you have one.

I do think you have to recognize that people have different levels of what they can tolerate. For me...I want the least amount of unnatural noise as possible...and cars = noise...pools = noise. I also want as natural a view as possible. In fact I guess it comes down to that I am overjoyed if I feel as if I am in a summer or ski house and not a massive hotel. Unfortunately I got that feeling at VWL on my first stay and have been looking for it at the other DVC's ever since. So far OKW came the closest.

And that said...I think BCV & BWV does an excellent job of emulating the Jersey Shore. The shore isn't a noise free environment ...it is a bustling one (except in winter). If you purchased BCV I don't see why you would be unhappy...you have access to Stormalong Bay (a hefty walk), use of really gorgeous sitting rooms. Incredibly easy access to Epcot and the Boardwalk. Even if the views were all bad what is there to regret? That it isn't perfect? No Disney resort is perfect.

We just got back from our stay in 178, a dedicated 2 BR. At first I was dismayed by the long long long walk down the hallway. Then I realized we were at the very end of the building. By going out the side door, we were a hop, skip, and jump to the bus stop. We self-parked the car and were then within yards of the car! No elevators to wait for, and 3 nice little patios. Okay, there wasn't much of a view, you could see the canal or the parking lot depending on which way you turned your head but it worked out great for us.

I have a 3 year old and we just kept the top lock locked if we didn't want him out on the patio - it was MUCH less nerve-wracking than worrying about him climbing the railings on a deck (or standing on chairs and tables, which he did). At the end of the building where we were there were LOTS of bright lights but when you shut the drapes, it was very dark inside. The only other thing is people pulling the luggage down the board walkway sometimes sounded like thunder - but it didn't bother me in the least. I was quite happy with our room.

We LOVED the BCV!

mb168, I'm with you about the room numbers! Of course its safer not to have the # on the key....but when you pull up at the entance with a carload of groceries and hesitate on remembering your room # you're apt to get looked at funny by the bellman! LOL Happened to me actually....older gentleman just looked at me and said "well how can we send this to your room if you don't know which one it is?" when it took me a moment to recall it!

I've never had a truly bad view at WDW.....all the ones mentioned here sound fine to me. As longs as I'm seeing something nice along with the parking lot or whatever, I won't argue! Looking forward to trying the BCV next year!

Our room was 545 which overlooked the wooded area between BCV and Epcot. You could see some IllumiNations if you leaned over the balcony rail. It was a pretty view, and quiet.

We were in room 465, a one bedroom, with friends staying in 463--one floor below where Belle2002 stayed. Yes, you can see Illuminations from there--the aerial fireworks parts. I liked the convenience to that elevator to the pooll!! Personally, I didn't like looking at the service road. Somehow, to me, it took away some of the magic watching fireworks while cars and trucks were whizzing by. Reality was raising its ugly head! LOL!! Other than that, it was a great room.
