We bought this leaf canopy from IKEA a year or two ago for our son's room and just never got around to installing it. Now we are ready to put it up but we have misplaced the small bag containing the velcro wall attachment and hardware :headache:.

I know IKEA sells hardware separately in case you need extra, but when I called about this specific product they said they unfortunately don't sell the wall attachment separately. I know it's a long shot, but I wanted to see if there is anyone from the Dis who happens to have this same product that they are not using anymore and would be willing to provide the velcro wall attachment (or if anyone has any other ideas on how I can go about obtaining the needed attachment).

thanks,
Laura

We have that leaf from IKEA & I lost the hardware kit too!!! :lmao:

I bought Super-Duper Industrial-Strength Sticky Velcro. I stuck the sticky side to the wall...put the pole down in between 2 velcro pieces & its is strong enough to hold the leaf up. (Did that make sense?) :thumbsup2 It stuck on the wall for 5 years!!! We recently moved & it's now stuck to the side of her IKEA loft bed. (Added Bonus - No Screw holes in the wall....the velcro sticky residue came off with some goo gone)

Also....Instead of calling IKEA, have you tried stopping by? At ours, by the customer service desk is a hardware desk. They have an IKEA catalog sitting, with coordinating bin #s. You pick thru the bins for your extra screws & hardware right there at no charge. I had to do this when I lost all the screws to her bed during the move.

So you have the leaf and the pole but not the part it goes into that mounts on the wall?

You could just drill a hole in a piece of wood and mount that to the wall.

How handy is the most handiest person in the house? you could use a pastic or metal pipe to hold it as well. But that would be a little more complex to mount to the wall.

I actually kept coming across the hardware packet for the longest time after we put the leaf itself together and I just kept shuffling it around; if only I put it in a safe place... Then again, maybe I did put it in a safe place but I just can't remember where that is! Ugh, I'm so disorganized!

If we lived closer to IKEA I'd definitely stop by, it's just too far away to make a trip just for that. I might try the velcro idea, thanks! But where do you get industrial strength velcro? Home Depot or Lowes, maybe?

Yes, we have the leaf and pole but we are missing the green rectangular pocket thing (see photo) that attaches to the wall and any associated hardware. I suppose we could jury-rig something to hold it up, I was just hoping to get hold of the pretty green matching attachment!

I got it at WalMart, but I know they have it at Home Depot too. Our velcro was always hidden behind the bed, so you never really saw that it didn't match.

Good Luck :thumbsup2

Okay thanks. For some reason I had been thinking about mounting the leaf to the adjacent wall (the bed is in the corner of the room) and having the leaf go over it at an angle but maybe I will play around with the placement to hide it like you mentioned. Now I'm excited to go get the velcro, seems like a simple solution!
