Anyone had LASIK surgery?

I just realized that I should have originally posted this topic in this board! I stupidly posted it in the Disney Tips board...sorry.

Anyone ever had LASIK surgery done on their eyes? My surgery is scheduled for this Friday, May 5, 2006. I am so excited and am looking for people who have had the surgery done to share their stories.

My mother, my sister and I have all had lasik with great results. I had mine done 4 years ago and at my eye exam last month I have 20/20 vision. I had very poor vision without glasses or contacts before. I am so glad I had the procedure done. It is great to wake up in the am and see!

I haven't, but a friend of mine did last summer. Her only regret is that she didn't do it sooner. She claims it's wonderful.

I had it done 5 years ago. I went from 20/200 in the R and 20/400 in the L, to 20/15 in the R and 20/45 in the L.

I have some starring around lights at night, but not much different than when I wore contacts.

Merrily--Everyone that I've spoken to that has had the surgery has told me that after the surgery they had 20/20 vision or better! My vision is horrible...I'm trying not to get my hopes up!

Jen--Those are really good results! How long before you were able to go back to work?

I had Lasik done in 2004. I was very nearsighted, everything was blurry 5 feet in front of me. The results were fabulous, the best thing was being able to see my alarm clock on my nightstand right next to me. Yeah, it was a little pricey, but well worth it.

You are going to love it!! I had Lasik in January '05. I can see 20/20 now. Before, I was blind as a bat. My eyes are a bit drier than they used to be so I have to use a lot of eye drops, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I had mine done on a Friday, and I went to work the following Monday. My eyes were sensitive to the fluorescent lighting for a few weeks, but now I don't have any problems.

Night driving is the most amazing improvement. Before, I wouldn't drive at night because I didn't feel safe. Now, DH prefers that I drive at night because my eyes are better than his. Enjoy your new vision!

I had Lasik a few years ago and it was the best money I ever spent! I went from 20/400 in both eyes to 20/20 in one and 20/15 in the other! Its nice to be able to see when you wake up in the middle of the night, and to wear regualr sunglasses too......

Yep! I had lasik two years ago and my DH had it a couple of months ago. We both love it! Better than 20/20 vision now!

I'll take dry eyes over glasses and contacts any day!

Best thing I ever did (besides marrying my DH). I had perfect vision the next day. I had it done in 2003 and I couldn't be happier with my results!
Just be sure to rest your eyes next weekend-you should stay away from watching TV, reading or the PC for the first few days. It helps you to not strain your eyes.
