Anyone going in next fortnight and NOT got tickets yet?

No Sharon :sad2: I spoke to Virgin again today and they reckon the tickets were sent on Saturday so we'll see. I just want them in my sticky little mitts - I will feel much better then. They did ask if we wanted to do Ticket on Departure but that means we can't do Twilight Check-In and will have paid for a night at the Hilton, Gatwick for nothing so I will keep holding out.

To be honest, I'm more worried about my Universal tickets than the plane tickets.

Thanks for asking - I'll let you all know when they arrive :)

It worries me silly waiting for tickets :( I will keep my fingers crossed for you :)

Quick update - still no tickets!!!! :worried: I am trying to get hold of someone at Virgin to find out what happens if they don't arrive.

Right, so I'm crying now  Am on hold with Virgin but it appears that, having been told yesterday that our tickets were despatched on Saturday, they actually haven't been.

The best they can offer us is to collect the tickets from the airport (which means we can't do Twilight Check-in - and we've already booked and paid for our hotel, thru Holiday Extras)

I am SO GLAD we've booked with Airtours for next year.

Why can't they despatch them by courier to you (even post office special delivery should get them to you tomorrow). I don't see why you should
lose out if it is there problem that has prevented the tickets from being
with you in a timely manner.

Are the tickets e-tickets, then all you need is the PNR locator reference,
the check in people can get by on just your name. However, it's wise to
have a copy to wave at people. If they are paper tickets the ticket desk can issue them for you and then you can go and twilight check in. I don't know the hours of the ticket desk.

What's happening with the Universal ticket - if they can get it to the airport for you to collect then why can't they get it to you.

It doesn't sound like they are being very helpful. As you are staying over the night before at a hotel can they deliver the tickets to you there?

:( Chris.

Oh thats not fair :( are they compensating you for your hotel booking?

If I were you I would phone Virgin back and tell them how annoyed and upset you are.... give the old blarney.... and say seeing as it is there error, they should be the ones pulling all the stops out to get the tickets for you i.e. getting a next day service/courier to you tomorrow with the tickets or better still a same day carrier, surely by their records they will have how many times you have spent on the phone already phoning them up, chasing them, plus with one of their staff giving you the wrong information (if you have the name of the person who told you they were dispatched on saturday even better!) i definately wouldn't give up without a fuss, but then again that's the irish in me!!!

Good Luck

I can't understand why they can't just email you the electronic tickets, we had our tickets a week ago and they were etickets...

Thanks for your replies. I phoned Virgin back and spoke to a lady in the Despatch department. She went and saw somebody from another department and then came back and said she had my tickets in her hand and would send them Special Delivery today, so they should be with us tomorrow.

I really hope so. I will be writing to Virgin anyway, to voice my displeasure (not that it will do any good, no doubt) - but, meanwhile, I just hope my tickets arrive tomorrow so I can finally relax and look forward to my holiday :sunny:

I will keep my fingers crossed for you Joh.. :)
