i was wondering if anyone is going to wdw the first week of june or if anyone has ever been there the first week of june, i am so excited about going again, but am so worried that it will rain non stop the whole time, and the crowds will be annoyingly unbearable, can someone help???? all responses will be GREATLY appreciated!!

Last yr we were there the second week of June and it only rained one full day with some afternoon showers on the day before. We were there for 5 days and found the rain to actually be a nice break from the heat and some rest time for us. Instead of rides we did a few indoor shows/attactions and called it a day. It usually doesn't rain full days in Florida during the summer just mostly afternoon cooling off showers . Take a little poncho and you will do fine. We will be there the first week ourselves this yr. as well. Don't worry rain or shine there is always something to do at Disney.

We have gone during this time period several times. Rain has never been a big problem and last year was the only time I felt that the crowds were pretty large. (I think the large crowd last year was an anomaly due to WDW discounts and the resurgence in the travel industry after 9/11/01.) The MK is extremely crowded on the 1st Saturday of June (June 7 this year) due to Gay Days. WDW has always had early entry at other parks when we have been there on the 1st Saturday in June.

There were record high temperatures for a couple of dates we were there (over 100 F) during one of our visits and we were hoping for some rain. As already mentioned, the rains we have seen were short in duration and scattered so that one park may get rain one day and another not get any that day.

This will be our 3rd trip in June.

I love it...but, not as much as Christmas though!;)

The crowds are bearable, it hasn't rained enough to bother us and I enjoy the hotter temperatures--it really feels like a summer vacation;)

Have a magical trip!:D

thanks for the feedback!!! I am most definitly going to have a great time no matter what, i always do, i just never went at this time and was wondering, thanks!!

We were there June 1-9 last year.
Didn't find it too crowded. Used fastpass as much as possible.
As far as the rain, it only rained one afternoon - of course it was the afternoon we were by the pool - they closed it due to lightning.
However, it was HOT HOT HOT!! 90's+
You need to pace yourself in that heat. Have a plan for coping with the heat (our "squeeze-breeze" saved us - water misting fan) drink lots and lots of water, etc.
I hope this helps.

We'l be there the first FULL week of June. DW, DS(8), and myself will be arriving Sat., June 7 departing Sat., June14.

Never been in June before. One in December, twice in May and twice in August. Can't believe that June is any worse than August. I guess we'll find out.

Can't wait! We'll be there from May 29th thru June 8th!!!! This is our first time during June. We usually go around Mother's Day, but decided that it was much harder to take a 6th grader out of school now. Hope it doesn't rain too much, but will take our ponchos and go. We are planning on visiting all the parks, water parks (didn't get to go last time...because it was too cold in May) and Universal! We have got our PS for most places and have our plans in place...just hope that the hours don't change too much. Have fun yourself and see you there!

We have been going around June 1st usually for around 10 days ever year since 1991. The rain has never been a real problem. Usually if it rains it lasts a few hours and you can wait it out. I can only recall one trip when we had rain all day for a couple of days in row. So I would not think the rain will be a problem for you. The crowds have never been too bad compared to what I hear other people talk about that go later in the summer. I will tell you we had to go late one year and did not get there until around June 10th. The difference in the crowds between the first days of June and the middle and latter days of June was amazing.
These are not any big secrets but they do work sometimes if you want to cut your wait times for the rides. Get there when the park opens as alot of people sleep in and go later in the morning. Once you have seen the parades, shows and fireworks if you are there the next time they are going on check out the rides as the lines will sometimes be shorter. There are other tips people have posted on this board if you want to check them out. Also some of the books on WDW you find in stores can give you some tips. But be warned it can be very, very hot at times especially in mid afternoon.

We have been going during the first week of June for many years, and here are my observations:

1. It is usually VERY hot and most of the time 100% humidity! Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and a Squeeze-Breeze.

2. It rains a lot of days in the afternoon. However, it is not very much, just enough to clear out the park and cool everything off.

3. It is usually very crowded, but not nearly as much as it is in the middle of summer. The crowds may not be as big this year because of all the tension in the world.

Hope this helps!

I found that whenever we got out of the resort without our ponchos, it would rain a bit!

This is our third June trip and the rain has never bothered us. Sometimes there was some weather where Test Track would close until it cleared up, but it really never caused any problems. Sometimes the rain is nice to cool down the temps for a bit!

We are leaving soon, too! May 29-June 14!!!! My suitcases are out and ready to load!!!!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!

Ever since our Honeymoon in 1995 we have been trying to go the first week of June. Our DD b-day is also first week of June. We love that time - We are leaving May 30th this year and staying till June 6th. Getting very excited for our trip!

From our expierence, rain isn't too bad, if it does rain - it's funny seeing everyone in ponchos. (On our honeymoon - no rain - perfect weather - other times rained one or 2 days.) It can be hot - but we like the hot weather. The crowds are not too bad, but the Park hours are just a little bit longer then in off-off peak times :).

We go for the obvious special dates, but we also just love being there that time of year,

Dave
