Anyone go with family and stay in different resorts?

Planned a trip last april with a couple staying off site, and us staying at AoA. Nothing to it, assuming you know the parks well, and at least one of the groups can direct the other around the parks. The guy in the other couple is a former DL employee, so he at least had a little knowledge at MK, though neither of them had ever been there before.

Dont know how using the pools together will work though.
