Yeah, good point about the traffic going back. Did anyone end with illuminations and have dinner/dancing before? Thanks for your answers!
Our wedding is 5pm at WP. Our reception is then at the whitehall room. Our allocated time runs out at 11pm. We have paid and extra $400 to have party till midnight. Don't quote me on this but i think you can go on till 2am.
I think what time of year you want to do this makes a difference too. I wanted to get married at 5pm at SBP in early February. Both my WC and Randy talked me out of this because of lighting for pictures. They said we would be fine for the ceremony but we would have to do the majority of our pictures before the wedding and I wasn't interested in doing that. hth. So if you want outdoor pictures, I would check with your photog.

October Bride, how long is the allocated time, I thought it was just 4 hours, but have I got it wrong? I hope so a sit will save us $400.
Thanks all for your replies. Has anyone managed to squeeze in the illuminations fireworks in this time slot?
We had our ceremony at 5pm at the WP followed by a reception at the BW. It was so perfect...mostly because of the lighting. It was summer and the sun was still up but not intense. It made for wonderful pics where as earlier in the day the sun can be harsher.
We had our reception from 6-12am (but we extended our by 1 hour to end at midnight). Normally it would have ended at 11pm. I would say we stayed until 12:30 or so. Cocktail hour from 6-7pm reception from 7-12am.
Also another great thing about a 5pm ceremony is you have all day to get ready and do pics so no rising at 6ami was very well rested and able to go the whole 10 hour day! pics did not start until 3pm for the girls so we had all morning to get ready and hang out.
