Anyone getting married at 5.00pm?

I think I may have an illuminations party the day before the wedding, do the food and beverage minimum still exist even if its not a wedding?

Yes - the same food and beverage minimums apply, and the money you spend will not count toward the overall DFTW minimums ($10k/$15k/$20k, etc.) b/c the event is no longer on the wedding day. Just so you know! :goodvibes

There are different food & Bev mins for each venue (according to party size) and as Carrie mentioned it will not count toward your wedding day min with DFTW.

Around how many guests are you having?

I'm having 24 guests, which locations are available for a party of my size?

I just want to do something special that you couldn't do at a normal wedding.

Pixie, how long did you extend it by?

Our wedding was in 2003, so I don't know if they still block the time for the events the same. Then we were able to do a 5pm ceremony at Sunset Pointe at the Poly, in early February, and the lighting was beautiful for the ceremony. We did photos at the Poly prior the the ceremony, and then some group photos at Sunset Pointe afterwards, the the beginning of the sunset came out beautifully. Our photos look like were were in the islands somewhere.

We then had a cocktail hour one a patio at the GF, and our reception in a GF ballroom. The reception was allowed to go four hours. No more, no less. It ended up being just enough time that we weren't exhausted and were able to be up early to do the parks with family and friends before everyone departed after the weekend.

I think the UK lower location would be the best site for your party size.

I think we extended it by an hour. All we were charged was a few extra dollars per person for the food. I can find out exactly when I get home.

a link to pics of the uk lower patio..

We used French upper but we had 65 guests. I think there is a French arm o something but UK lower has such a great view.
