Just curious as we want this time frame, how late disney let you party until?! How long is your total wedding time frame? Can you customize this? Would be great if anyone could answer! Thanks!

I'm having my wedding at 5:00 pm at SBP, but it's an Escape and we're "partying" at a private room, so I don't think I can help because I think you're interested in Wishes.... let me know if you have any questions though! :goodvibes

I got married at 5pm at the WP. We went straight to the reception, and then had a illuminations DP. The reception (only dinner no real dancing) was 6:30 - 9:00, and the DP 9:30-10:30.

I have heard of some brides on here that have had receptions past midnight before.

Our WC steered us away from a 5pm SBP ceremony...just because you get a lot of resort traffic going from Epcot back to the resorts for dinner time...

:confused3 We kind of wanted it at Dusk, but since that isn't until like 6 or so anyway, we settled for 2pm...

that probably didn't help, but just a little tidbit of info--

Yeah, good point about the traffic going back. Did anyone end with illuminations and have dinner/dancing before? Thanks for your answers!

I'm getting married at 5pm, photos at 6 and walking to whitehall room, pre-reception til half 6 and then dinner and dancing til 1am ish. They let you have the venue for 4 hours and then you have to pay $400 per hour for each extra hour, plus the extra costs of drinks and entertainment.

Our wedding is in the wedding pavilion at 5.
The pre-reception goes until 7 at Whitehall.
The dinner and dancing after that.
Then we have a dessert party at the GF marina 9:30-11:00.
So a total or 6 hours.

I think what time of year you want to do this makes a difference too. I wanted to get married at 5pm at SBP in early February. Both my WC and Randy talked me out of this because of lighting for pictures. They said we would be fine for the ceremony but we would have to do the majority of our pictures before the wedding and I wasn't interested in doing that. hth. So if you want outdoor pictures, I would check with your photog.

You would be pushing it. We had a plated meal first dance and mom/son father/daughter dance. Also, Illuminations started at 9:30 that time of year. (most of the time it starts at 9). We actually ran a little late to Illuminations.

I imagine it could be done. If you had your ceremony at SBP, your reception somewhere close by, and do a buffett it could be possible. It would be very rushed though. I know the average reception that disney does is 5 hours. You would be trying to do ceremony and reception in 4.

Our wedding is 5pm at WP. Our reception is then at the whitehall room. Our allocated time runs out at 11pm. We have paid and extra $400 to have party till midnight. Don't quote me on this but i think you can go on till 2am.

October Bride, how long is the allocated time, I thought it was just 4 hours, but have I got it wrong? I hope so a sit will save us $400.

And I'm getting married at 5pm at SBP in December with that same light because I love the look of those pics and we'll be getting a few before hand... Dusk in Florida is beautiful in my opinion! It's all about personal preference! :goodvibes

We are getting married at 5pm at Wedding Pavilion, cocktail hour is from 6-7 and then dinner and dancing from 7-11 both at the Napa Room in the California Grill restaurant at the Contemporary. We are not extending the hours.

Also, we are getting married in December and we are not seeing each other before the wedding so we are doing outside pictures right after the ceremony for sunset pics and then doing night shots. Dusk is around 5:45-6 that time of year. We are using Randy for our pics.

HTH!

I don't know anything about escape wedding but for my wishes wedding we have the room 6pm - 11pm so 5 hrs i guess!!!

I have just checked on my BEO for you and the room is booked 5pm - 1am and the reception details start at 6pm to midnight so i guess it must be five hours free as we are only paying for 1 extra hour.
Hope this helps.

We had our ceremony at 5pm at the WP followed by a reception at the BW. It was so perfect...mostly because of the lighting. It was summer and the sun was still up but not intense. It made for wonderful pics where as earlier in the day the sun can be harsher.

We had our reception from 6-12am (but we extended our by 1 hour to end at midnight). Normally it would have ended at 11pm. I would say we stayed until 12:30 or so. Cocktail hour from 6-7pm reception from 7-12am.

Also another great thing about a 5pm ceremony is you have all day to get ready and do pics so no rising at 6am:surfweb: i was very well rested and able to go the whole 10 hour day! pics did not start until 3pm for the girls so we had all morning to get ready and hang out.

Thanks all for your replies. Has anyone managed to squeeze in the illuminations fireworks in this time slot?

No it is not possible unless your reception is in EPCOT and you have an illuminations party as your pre-reception in which case you would most likely have a 7pm ceremony.

this is why we chose to do an Illuminations DP as a welcome party the night before our wedding for all of our guests. It was a huge hit.

So just to clarify, the reception time you get for no extra cost is 5 hours?
That makes my reception is 6.30-11.30pm, and I can add one extra hour @ $400 to take us til 00.30am, right?

I think I may have an illuminations party the day before the wedding, do the food and beverage minimum still exist even if its not a wedding?

carlonie- yes that is about right. i think officially it is 6pm- 11pm. We added on the extra hour to make it until 12am but they did not kick us right out:rotfl: We had the Dp as a welcome party and it worked out great. We had our photog randy and our videographers there as well. It was so great because we got to see everyone right before the wedding which made doing table visits during the recption see easy because we had seen almost everyone already the night before...we also extended our dp.
