Anyone get the flyer about the price going up??

I got the flyer in the mail yesterday about the price going up as of June 5th..

I just added on a 100 points but am tempted to add another fifty before the price increase..

Any thoughts on when you think SSR will be sold out..????

The price increase was pretty well-known. Prices already went up to $104 for new members back in March. They held it at $101 (before discounts) for current members for a few extra months.

I think they have close to a year left at SSR...at least into early 2008 unless they have a big sale in the fall.

I am going on the DCL again in Oct 08 and was going to add on then when we went but am concerned now that SSR will be sold out by then.....

Going to WDW in Sept. wondering if their will be a better incentive when I am there to add on???

The last two years DVC had its lowest prices of the year in the October - December timeframe. Take that for what it's worth. There's really no way of knowing whether they will follow suit again this year.

One thing to take into account is your Use Year. If, for example, you have an August Use Year, buying now will get you 2006 points which they should let you bank (even though we may be past the deadline.) If you wait until October you will only get '07 points and forward.

If your Use Year is earlier in the year (February, March) you will only get '07 points regardless of when you add.

Also, dues are pro-rated for the calendar year. If you buy now you'll still pay about 8/12ths of the 2007 dues ($2.74 at SSR). If you wait until October to buy, you may only pay 2/12ths of the '07 dues (about $.68 per point)

I recently bought an upgrade and I asked that question...
I was told it depends on the UY month I have August and she said the inventory was low but there. I was told it is expected to sell out this year..... Some of the Uy are already in the unopened (then) buildings but should not have an affect on most UY as you will still get teh 2006 points as they will be open before your UY. True or not I needed the points either wa.. Also asked about AK to SSR and she cleimed for her as she could not account for anyone else at that point because the figures were not yet available that it was a 50-50 split. I am sure if AKV sells better it will have an impact on what i was told with SSR selling out.....

We just added on at SSR last week and we were able to bank 100% of the 2006 points with an August UY.

The marketing folks at DVC have a really tough job, don't they? I feel pretty good about our points level after our recent add-on, but I really wonder how I'm going to feel in another year. We're getting used to bringing extra people along with us, and now we're talking about some extra short trips on top of it. This is addicting.

We are waiting on the paperwork to add on two 100 point contracts at SSR. We have a June use year and were told on Monday that if we got the paperwork back quickly, everything would be set and we would be allowed to bank the 2006 points. So now I am hoping that I can use the 06 points for an extra trip in August. And then re-book my November trip to use the banked 06 points up instead of using all 07 points that I reserved with. We've been talking about adding on for a while and the news of the price increase and my DD wanting to go to the Pirate and Princess part in August finally got us moving. We are paying cash so the guide said everthing should move quickly once we Fed Ex the papers back along with a check. Decided on two smaller contracts just in case we decided we don't want as many points when DD is grown or if we want to actually give her one of the contracts for a college graduation present (its seven years away but we believe in planning ahead).

We got the flyer also. I didn't get a chance to read it, though, because as soon as my husband saw my eyes light up he quickly took the flyer and said "No more add ons, remember?"
