In the quest for the "perfect" room, I like many others are asking about room or building location at the Poly. Never really considered Fiji until today. Would those who have stayed there consider it a quiet area? I would rather face luau cove than the pool/marina. Is there alot of traffic in that area? How about the music from the dinner show-I think it would be kind of cool to hear it. Looking for any opinions or good room locations from anyone who has stayed there. Driving myself nutty over this stuff. It's our first time staying there & we're very excited. Other room areas I've looked at are Tahiti, Rapa Nui, Aotearoa,& Tokelau. I don't care about being close to pools, transportation.....just some quiet & a nice view!! Thanks for letting me ramble & thanks in advance for the help!!:)

We really liked our stay in Tahiti. We could hear the ferry and people in the hallway, but overall it was pretty quiet. You could not beat the location though! The best at the Polynesian IMO!

PS: If you stay at Tahiti, it is a quicker walk to the MK express monorail at the TTC than at the GCH. :)

We have never stayed in Fiji but did walk around there and the views do look very nice from both sides. You can hear the music from the Luau from that side when outside the building. Not sure if closing the balcony door would block it out or not. We were in Tokelau and really liked the location. We had a pretty garden view near the quiet pool. I think all the buildings have their pro's and con's. Remember that your requst is only a request. They won't guarantee a certain longhouse. We loved it there. You will have a great time no matter what longhouse you end up in!

I've stayed at Fiji twice. I just got back last week from our second trip. The first time we stayed on the marina side. I really enjoyed the view of the marina and the Volcano in the background. Last week, we stayed on the other side. The view was awesome. We had rooms 3302 and 3303. We had beautiful views of the shore of the lagoon and of the Grand Floridian. In the evenings the Grand Floridian looked great with the sun setting behind it. We really liked sitting on the balcony and seeing all the people going to the luau. If you sat outside you could hear the luau but once the door was closed you could barely hear it. At night you have a great view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach between the Poly and the Grand Floridian because there is an unobstructed view of the castle, from the beach by the volcano pool there is an island that obstructs the castle view. Finally, Fiji is super close to the Great Ceremonial Hall so you can grab a quick bite to eat, shop or hop on the monorail without walking too far. I'd say go with Fiji and don't think twice about it.
