Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Great photos! Oh my gosh breathtaking! Lol I will be sure to schedule our May vacation within an inch of it's life! I do have rest days in there...now I am scared. But really PIO no water park or Universal visit ... Shame on you lol..
i take it back just realise you we to Typhon Lagoon lol. Just Universal then...

The Fireworks Gods were definitely smiling down on you that night :goodvibes

I'll have to try out your tips for fireworks shots with my non-DSLR :thumbsup2 Having said that, on our last trip, I completely forgot about all the fancy features my camera has and just used auto mode for every single photo :rotfl:

I've yet to step foot inside a water park. I really want to. But water parks kinda weird me out...all I think of are peoples bare feet on the ground and I think 'fungus'. Then I think about the water being 'clean'. But i'll suck it up one day and do it.

Geez does that lazy river look relaxing and inviting though :scratchin

Dinner looks absolutley amazing! I'm really trying to get DH to eat there in January. I showed him the apple crumble and he's pretty much sold!

Thank you for the photography lesson over at MK:thumbsup2 Beautiful shots!

Love the castle projections and fireworks shots. The fireworks gods were smiling!:woohoo:

Very nice photos from Celebrate the Magic! Castle projection show on Cinderella Castle. It is a little different from "The Magic, The Memories, & You!" which used to be there until it was replaced with Celebrate the Magic. I wish that IASW at DL had the same show effect.

The firework trails pictures from Wishes are very nice. I can't wait to go this weekend and get some good firework trail pictures.

Great updates.

I love those fireworks pics!
....and I'm not at all surprised that you filled your 'lazy' day so completely

I don't know why *I* was surprised. If I don't have things scheduled, I just can't seem to sit still!!!

The reason I can't be bothered to get into photography is that I look at your pictures (and those of others that take high quality shots) and say "I can't do any better myself!" Thank you so much that you share them with us. (Though I must say that still photographs of the castle projection show don't really do it justice...that's not a comment on your photography, just that it works much better in motion/person.)

I like how your "lazy day" became a "run all over the place day". :cool1: We have gotten better at planning a down day with each passing trip, but it really is about planning it out. Only a true Disney planner schedules their down time! :lmao:

I seriously thought about it; but when DH and I talked it over, we figured we would not set any plans for the down days.

Thanks Pete. Yes, the long exposure shots of the castle projection show didn't do that show justice at all.

Love the fireworks and projections shots.

Glad you liked them. :thumbsup2

I love the irony of needing to schedule in the future since your lazy day turned out so hectic!

The fireworks pictures are amazing! I'm in awe of your skill and camera knowledge....I would love to learn but I'm so lazy. :)

Jill in CO

Thanks Jill. Ironic, isn't it?

I owe everything I know about photography to the Dis. Lots of helpful people on the photo section when I was learning. :thumbsup2

Your castle projection and fireworks photos are absolutely gorgeous.

Corinna

Thank you.

:scratchin The TR isn't finished yet. :rolleyes1

Those pictures were superb!!! I was singing along in my mind, loved it!

:thumbsup2 You and I were singing together.

Oh em gee- your photos are amazing! Just wow. :thumbsup2

Thank you.

The Firework Gods were rather kind to me on this trip.

Hope the tips help.

You do know you can walk from the Contemp to MK, right???

And the 2 second delay! Yes! Use it all the time!

Those fireworks pictures, BAMM! There ya go!

:)

Jud

Yes, I do know I can walk from CR to MK. I had a side-mission to investigate inside the CR and it was easier to hop on the monorail to get to MK.

Yes, and now that you put the words there, I got the thing stuck in my head so have to post this little bit...

(Great fireworks shots!)

Thanks. From the T&TC? Nice. No music. :headache:

The same thought about the ground crossed my mind briefly.....and then I remembered that I had no issue walking about swimming pools.

Do it. The water park (TL) was great. We had a great day there.

Glad that the apple crumble tipped the scales with your DH to eat at RR. ;)

Hope the tips help. :thumbsup2

Thanks. Yup. I was really pleased that the firework gods were smiling on me that trip.

Have a great time Bret. Hope you get great pictures.

You couldn't hear it? It was there- weak, but there- that is why I went to it- that final crescendo!

Yes, TTC. Still haven't remembered at the moment to set fixed focus... argggg!!!!!!!!!!!

I also want to address something skier-Pete said. I long ago realized there would always be someone posting better pictures than me, but no one can post my pictures. It is the personal connection that makes it still worthwhile no matter what quality you are shooting. (Also noted in woodcarving, writing, blogging, video, cabinet-making, etc, etc, etc...)

I didn't hear it. Might have to go back and take another look and listen.

(And I completely agree with your comments about "my" pictures.)

Great pics PIO.

I agree with the preferences on settings to get the pic you want. You can adjust any ends of the exposure triangle and get a great pic of the same item. I took a couple of hundred castle show pics where I used shutter priority of 100 on most of the pics and was very happy with the outcome. If memory serves me I had the 24-70 2.8 on at the time. ISO was capped at 6400.

I was waiting to see your pics and find out the settings you had went with. I know it is a few vacay days way but I am looking forward to when we get to "our" night :thumbsup2

I think I'm caught up.

Love your fireworks pics.

When we went to Raglan Road there was a huge wait for an outside table and no wait for an inside one. I was a bit disappointed as I think the band outside was better. One day I will have to go back and make room for that bread pudding. I salivate every time I see pictures of it.

Sadly, I didn't review my pictures until after I came home. So I went with similar settings for "our" night.

I'm hoping that you'll post yours when we get up to then because I think yours were FANTASTIC! And it'll be a great way to compare for those that are interested in photobabble. :thumbsup2

We only heard the music inside for the River Dancing. I thought it was pretty lively inside but I'm glad we sat outside. It was a lovely evening and even though we were a little hot to begin with, when the sun set the temperatures were just about perfect.

Breathtaking firework pics!

Thank you. :flower3:

Wake Up! Wake Up! What a Wonderful World

I see trees of green

Red roses too.

I see them bloom, for me and you.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue

And clouds of white.

The bright blessed day

The dark sacred night.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow

So pretty in the sky.

Are also on the faces

Of people going by

I see friends shaking hands.

Saying, "How do you do?"

They're really saying, "I love you".

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow,

They'll learn much more, than I'll ever know.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

Yes, I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

Oh yeah.

DH and I had gotten up really early this morning. DH had wanted to go for a run around Crescent Lake and whilst I did contemplate joining him for part of the way, when I had gotten outside the Beach Club, I headed back in to grab my camera. I like to think that my soul was better nourished by the beautiful sunrise than nourishing the body with a run/brisk walk. It truly was a wonderful World this morning.

DisMeet #10 - Let the Gamers Begin at Cape May!

We had another reason for the early start. The DisGamers meets were about to commence in earnest!

It was an early 8 am ADR and there were 8 of us for breakfast this morning. We collected the Dis-ser’s official record whilst we were waiting for our tables to be ready.

From left to right. Franandaj, Luvchefmic, Bobbiwoz, princessinoz and AnneBerkery. (I stole this picture from DH's set of photos.)

The thing I didn't like about Cape May was that they didn't have a table big enough for all 8 of us; so we got split into two tables of 4. Even though the tables were right next to each other, it just didn't feel like we got decent conversation going between the two tables.

As breakfast locations go, Cape May is one of my favourites.

It can get full in here; but there just seems to be a heap more space to spread out. Besides, I've never really experienced Cape May when it is filled to capacity.

Unlike the more popular character breakfast spots at the parks, I can normally count on Cape May being a bit more civilised and less crowded.

And the food? It is a typical buffet and the food can be hit or miss. But at the hour that we started, the food was pretty fresh.

And anywhere that serves Mickey waffles is okay by me!

Especially when you team it with French Toast, maple syrup, strawberry sauce and caramelised bananas, right?

There was also a pretty decent selection of fruit. I stuck with my favourites.

DH could always be counted on to select the healthy option. Quinoa porridge with those bananas. I have NO idea how this tasted.

We'd been in the US for over 20 days now. I was definitely losing my coffee snob tastebuds by this stage. We could also order OJ, tea and hot chocolate.

All sweet things must come to an end. These were some of the savoury options for breakfast.

I'm pretty sure this was DH's breakfast plate after the quinoa porridge.

Today was actually DH's birthday. We’d been celebrating all week so far; but it was still a surprise to find that the various dining establishments were still spreading pixie dust around. This birthday cupcake was delicious!

Luvchefmic and I first DisMet in 2010. Then, we met with a bunch of other Dissers outside near Hurricane Hannah's. That DisMeet in 2010 was my second ever meet and I believe it was Luvchefmic's first DisMeet. It was wonderful to catch up with her again. Pluto might be her favourite Disney character, but I think she quite enjoyed taking this picture with Goofy. (I stole this picture from DH’s set)

The character interaction here is solid. You’re always guaranteed of about 3 characters. It might not be as many as you might expect at the parks; but then I don't feel like I'm competing with a gazillion other people for character face-time; nor do I feel like I'm being rushed out the door at Cape May.

We did get a picture of the entire breakfast group, with a very special guest. My picture was a little dark.....

.....so I stole this one from DH's collection.

It was wonderful to finally be meeting up with Bobbiwoz and AnneBerkery in person. We'd spent so much time planning this first meeting that in a way, it was anti-climactic. Like every other DisMeet I've had the pleasure of participating in, the conversation just picked up from where we had left of on the Dis. And like every other DisMeet I've had with people that I have a one-line conversation with 3 or 4 times a day, BobbiWoz and I just kept talking at the same time!!! It took BobbiWoz and I a couple of minutes to remember to stop talking to let the other person have a chance at providing a 3D verbal response. When we added AnneBerkery into the mix, it was non-stop chatter.

Alison and I had already fine-tuned the 3D conversations and the verbal cues; and as always it is such a pleasure to see her and Fran.

All in all, it was a fantastic way to spend time with other Dis-sers. Let the Gamers begin!
