Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Great photo's of the Beach Club! I am excited because DW and I just booked this for 3 nights in September during the F & W :-) never managed to score it at 7 months before always fully booked those accessible rooms :-)

How nice re the mug! What a great bit of pixie dust. I always have a few spare mugs because I get a new one every 3-4 days as I have a compromised immune system and the new RFID mugs do not go in the dishwasher so bacteria city! So CM kindly just give me a new when it gets dirty so that's great.

You really were blessed with empty spaces photos that day. I love he entrance photos. I am glad that all worked out with returning to the hotel early. Getting that free mug is a bit of Pixie Dust.

Got a little time to catchup again. Beautiful pics as always PIO. It has been awhile since I have walked around the Beach Club.

We'll have to make a point of it next time you come up Ed Fred & I love that resort, even though sadly we have never stayed there, I KNOW I recognize Dee ( TeenaS) I will have to seek her out sometime

PIO tell me about that Mickey shirt you have on Is it different mailboxes from various countries? It caught my eye and I need to find out about it

Splash you described that " aroma " perfectly Hands down though it is my favorite ride EVER How I wish we could see that movie, sure it will never happen though :sad1: Love your wash & dry story, can you believe I have never been on the tea cups ? I get a little queasy just walking past them

Lovely relaxing afternoon at Beach Club and a DisMeet to boot.:thumbsup2

Very nice update. Great pics from the Beach Club and a very nice DISMeet that day.

Ahhhh! Clever!

:)

::yes::

The Ancient Mariner.

Precise time was vital to navigation by the stars and shipping was the lifeblood of commerce at the time. In fact, King's offered substantial rewards for the invention of an accurate time piece that could operate aboard a tossing ship at sea!

:)

Jud

Good to know. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Wow! Kudos to you Princess! You have done such a fantastic job of staying on top of this thread! I just caught up again. Your photos are always an inspiration! I want to go back to the Buzz Lightyear ride and take MORE pictures! :rotfl2:

Nice to see you posting, Denise. And in pretty good time too. I expect to get round to our DisMeet soon.

Thanks. I always want to go back and take MORE pictures too. :rotfl:

Taking time out of my busy Florida-vacation schedule to catch up on your TR! :rotfl: (actually there's nothing busy about it, my dad and I are doing plenty of relaxing!!).

In your bus stop sign photo, I noticed that #1 and #4 (I think) are left blank..... do you know the reason for this? Just wondering if they will add something later, or if they switch up the bus stops (although that doesn't make sense because then they'd also have to switch the hanging signs at the actual stop).

How nice about the mug!! :goodvibes

.

 Hope you're having a great visit with your Dad. I expect its a lot warmer in Florida than home for you.

I have no idea what was in those blank spots on the bus stop sign. Good spotting! I didn't even notice. But I did notice them building what looked like more bus stops further right of the existing bus stops.

:goodvibes

It has been years since I read that book, and this is the second reference to it within a month.

42 has a way of cropping up every so often. :goodvibes

Beautiful BCV pictures, I can't wait to stay there.

Very cool about the mug.

Nice that you were able to enjoy SAB :)

I think you'll enjoy the BCV. The rooms are looking a little dated (and they'll seem positively drab compared to the VGF) but they are still comfortable. My family really love SAB. I hope you will too.

It was very cool about the mug.

Sounds like a nice relaxed afternoon after a busy morning. Nice that you were able to fit in another DisMeet, and especially nice that DS got some refillable mug pixie dust :goodvibes I'm disappointed you didn't take your camera to SAB, your photos of the rest of the resort are so great, I'd love to see your take on SAB too :thumbsup2

I didn't take the camera along on this afternoon to SAB. It is a very large pool complex and I didn't want to worry about the camera going missing whilst I was enjoying the pool.

But I do have more pictures of the resort coming up. I took pictures of the resort when it fitted in with our comings and goings. You'll just have to wait and see if I have any of SAB towards the end of my time here. :rolleyes1

I have been lurking on your wonderful report off and on when I have the chance and I intend to sit down an binge-read when I find a big block of time, but I had to comment and thank you for the nice shout out about the FAQ thread and to let you know that I loved reading about your meeting with Teena!

I also really appreciated the great photos and info you posted on the FAQ thread, and the great way they were organized! Did I PM you to ask for permission to add links to your posts to the appropriate posts on the front page of the FAQ thread? I don't think I did, but I would love to add your fantastic and helpful pictures there if you don't mind!

Thanks!

Dee :goodvibes

:wave2: Thanks for sticking with the TR. Glad you're still lurking from time to time.
And you DO run a great FAQ thread on the BCV.

I can't remember if I did get a PM from you or not. But feel free to use the pictures anyway you'd like to. I did take them to share and it would be great if you could use them in that thread. :thumbsup2

It's going to be a great trip for you in September. Congrats on getting the BCV at the 7 month stage.

That's so nice that the CM give you new mugs. It's a shame that the RFID ones don't go into the dishwasher. I actually soaked the one we got in detergent and hot water for a bit and then washed it out again.

Thanks Corinna. Yes, the back-to-the-resort-in-the-afternoon worked out great for us.

And I did get a few empty space photos this trip.

Got a little time to catchup again. Beautiful pics as always PIO. It has been awhile since I have walked around the Beach Club.

Thanks Ed. It's a great spot to walk round and take pictures. I really need to schedule a photo only trip one of these years.

So many things I wanna do.....so little time and money. *sigh*

We'll have to make a point of it next time you come up Ed Fred & I love that resort, even though sadly we have never stayed there, I KNOW I recognize Dee ( TeenaS) I will have to seek her out sometime

Actually, TeenaS is Teena. She seems have worked at the Beach Club for a while. (Natebenma is Dee.)

That Mickey shirt I have on is one that I bought in Hong Kong Disneyland. It is mailboxes on it and I'm not really sure if they are all different countries or cities. There are various chinese characters on the mailboxes. I never thought to ask what the characters say. I have to wear the t-shirt and visit my mother. She reads chinese script. It is possible that they are names of the Disney characters on the mailboxes. We did see some pins at HKDL with the names of the characters written in Chinese. These were really cute; but as I don't read Chinese, it was all Chinese to me. :confused3

Lovely relaxing afternoon at Beach Club and a DisMeet to boot.:thumbsup2

Thanks. Yes, our pattern for today set up our daily pattern for the rest of our stay. We would come back to the pool on quite a few days.

Very nice update. Great pics from the Beach Club and a very nice DISMeet that day.

Thanks, Bret.

How lovely of that lady to give away her mug and well done for being in the right place at the right time.
I'm looking forward to pics of the Beach Club pool.

Thanks Wanderlust. Yes, it was perfect timing and really nice of her. It's a shame that I never got to see what she looked like or thank her. It was all done by the time I caught up with the boys.

What a nice afternoon and I'm glad you got to meet another DISer. How fun that she's an employee too and posts here! Cute photos.

I think it's cool about the mug, used or not. We use glasses in restaurants that are used by hundreds of folks. ;) Very good karma indeed. Nice begets nice. :)

Love the pictures at the front of MK! Great idea to get them after everyone was already in the park.

I really want to redo my whole kitchen with all that Disney stuff. I do have the Mickey head ice trays which are fun to use.

Those cupcakes look delicious. I've been kind of obsessed with Disney cupcakes lately and thay peanut butter chocolate one is on my list!

So glad you got the opportunity to do another DIS meet!

Well color me confused :rotfl2: as to Teena and Dee...she looks familiar to me regardless

I love that shirt, I will have to find one

Well I am back from vacation and all caught up now!

WDW Magic Kingdom day
I so understand the moment of sadness, when all your planning is coming true, but I usually try to think of the next trip and how much fun it will be. Plus enjoy the moment I am in.
The family shot is beautiful, very sweet and I LOVE the castle photo with the water in the front.
Castles in the Air – Lovely “air” shots.
Ariel’s Ride pictures are great!
I don’t think you are short, I think Gaston is tall!
We have never experienced Enchanted Tales with Belle
BTMRR – love it and loved the photos… As others have said, I am too scared to take out my carema during that ride…

LOVE the photo from splash mountain!
There is always time for one last ride/game and friendly competition!
Magic Kingdom entry picture is beautiful.

The Beach Club is my home resort and I love the DVC areas…
I too am lucky enough to say that I have meet TeenaS in person!

I'd like to get more Disney stuff for my kitchen too. Problem is my kitchen is already chockers with stuff. I need a bigger kitchen to fit more stuff in.

I have a few more DisMeets coming up. ;)

Isn't TeenaS so gracious? I totally get why she's working doing what she's doing. She's just so welcoming.

Let’s NOT Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It

We made our way back to Magic Kingdom after our swim in SAB. This time, our re-entry back to MK resulted in us catching a Photopass photographer on duty. I quite like this family picture.

It was definitely time to make more memories.

Pick the odd one out. (I swiped this from DH’s pictures)

We didn't rush down Main Street. I was floating on air at being here and just wanted to soak in the atmosphere.

Our re-entry had coincided with the Dream Along with Mickey castle show. (Another one I swiped from DH)

DH was wearing his birthday button and a number of CM wished him Happy Birthday. One even told him that they had planned a special parade just for him and it was about to start very shortly. Even though I was supposed to be somewhere very specific at 6 pm today, I encouraged the boys to stop and watch.

A random bit of trivia that you might not know about me. I'm never late for anything if I can help it; I get quite stressed about not being somewhere I promised to be at the arranged time and will go out of my way to get there early so that I don't stress out.

However tonight, I was keen to delay the 6 pm arrangement for as long as I possibly could. The parade gave me a perfectly legitimate excuse to be late without seeming too rude. The CM suggested that we make our way to the hub.

I've never experienced the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade before.

So, I was rather happy to take some timeout to enjoy.

There's my competition for exclusivity with Mickey!

I liked the look of the floats.

And there were some of my very favourite non-fab 5 characters in this parade.

Another one of those random minutae trivia that not very many people know about me. When I was 8 or 9, I actually won the school stilt-walking competition for my year grade. Just think....if I'd stuck with it, this could have been my dream job.

These days, walking on stilts will land me flat on my....er....back.

The characters that were on the floats just kept coming!

Stunning!

(Continued from Previous Post)

After the floats had completed a pass round, DH and DS were keen to move on. They were rather surprised that I wanted to stay for the full parade. Afterall, I'm usually the one keen to Move It and Shake It.

NOT this time. I was not interested to move it or shake it too quickly at this point in time.

I made sure we stayed for a while longer. Aside from the wished for delay, it gave me the opportunity to grab more shots of the characters.

The Mad Hatter and I had a bit of a moment.

Oooh....Look! Squirrel....er....chipmunks.

It's Chip....

...and most definitely Dale. Red Nose gives him away every time!

I'd like to think that someone was NOT amused by my lack of attention span!

I love King Louie.

...and if it weren't for Pooh, Baloo would be my bear of choice.

I NEED to get a better shot of him!

Genie!

Incredible muscle tone.

My main man, Mickey (no one tell my DH nor Minnie!)

With this parade, the characters do leave the floats for a bit of a boogie.

They look like they are having so much fun.

I liked how they mingle with the guests and get them to dance with them.

And yes, I did get a better shot of my favourite duck.

Anyone else notice how dark the clouds look?

I was a little concerned during the parade.

Lucky for me, the rain held off.

Oh! What a Tangled web we Weave

Both dhorner and goopysolelady are regular gamers on the Where in the World thread.
I lurk and play on that thread from time to time and we've been kinda hanging out on the photo sub-forum for about 2 or 3 years now.

This specific DisMeet had been pre-arranged some 10 or 11 months before. Dhorner and I had met (together with franandaj) in California. During that meet, we had discovered that we would be in WDW around the same time and had put in plans to catch up today. During the intervening period, Goopysolelady had watched us plan for this day and I expect she had been feeling happy for us, but a little envious. Heading to WDW had not been in her plans at all. Imagine my surprise and delight when I fed my on-line addiction in Page to find that GOL had left me a PM on the Dis. Turns out she had been really keen to get to this meet! She had been gifted the unexpected trip from her family and was keen to catch up with us.
So from that time, I had been in communication with dhorner and goopysolelady about our DisMeet. We finally confirmed our arrangement to meet for dinner at MK for around 6 pm whilst I was in Page.

So why was I so rude and looking for opportunities to delay this meet?

There are a number of other regular players on Where in the World. One of them, SunDial, lives in Florida. I'm guessing that GOL might have shared the news of her trip on the WitW thread and he started to scheme. But his plan needed a co-conspirator.
Unbeknownst to the other two, SunDial had been texting me for about 2 - 3 days prior (whilst I was in Pagosa Springs). He really wanted to surprise the other two and wanted to come to our DisMeet. He needed to conspire with me because he needed to work out where we were meeting so that he could catch up with us. And due to his work schedule, a 6 pm kick-off was a little too early as the earliest he could meet us was 7 pm.

I didn't know how to change the time of our original meet without tipping off the other two until I got into the park. The parade gave me the perfect excuse to send a text and ask for some extra time. And technically, I didn't lie. I DID want to see the parade. Besides, you may notice from the last picture, my nose didn't grow at all.

Are you still with me? Confused?

All I can say is 'Oh! What a tangled web we weave when we first practise to deceive.'

DisMeet # 7: Where in the World

We were meeting everyone else here.

I'd taken these pictures earlier in the day as we were walking back and forth in the park.

It's rather New England'ish charming in style.

The Columbia Harbour House is a counter service place; and there was sufficient variation in the menu to suit all of us.

I had figured that if we had stuck with the 6 pm kick off, we may well have been finished dinner and moving around the park by the time SunDial got in. It would have been harder to sort out a meeting spot without tipping off the other two. So, the best bet was to have us still sitting and eating so that SunDial could spring his surprise. Hence why I was unfashionably 30 minutes late for this DisMeet and rather apologetic when I saw everyone.

It was really lovely to see dhorner and her DisCuz again; and it was even lovelier to meet goopysolelady in 3D. I'm not sure how they really felt at that time but they did reassure me that my tardiness was fine. But I kinda felt terrible at being late and making them wait, wasting precious park time.

I pushed things a little further by promptly rushing everyone in to get dinner with the rationale that the order lines were short'ish; rather than capture our DisMeet evidence straight away. Afterall, I was keen for us to grab pictures of the DisMeet only after SunDial had arrived. And that's how it played out.

We got dinner and found a spot to sit and chat.

I got the Lobster Roll. It was tasty enough but there was a little bit too much dressing for me. It definitely doesn't measure up to real New England Lobster Roll but for being at a Disney CS place, it was fine.

DS was interested in the fish and chips. It looked dry to me; but DS did finish this meal.

Order envy belonged to DH. He got the Grilled Salmon. Delicious!

I had a great time chatting with Goopysolelady and re-establishing the 3D friendship with dhorner and her DisCuz here; but I must have seemed a little rude. During the meal, Sundial was texting me with updates and also to find out where we were. So I was multi-tasking by eating, talking and texting at the same time. As a rule, I try to never look at my phone when I'm with other people in 3D.

I'd managed to position myself so that I was sitting facing the entrance and the other two didn't quite have that good a view of the door. Sundial walked in shortly after 7 pm and I had such pleasure in telling them to turn around and take a look at who the cat dragged in.

The deception was so totally worth it! The look on their faces as they turned round and recognition dawned is one of my most satisfying memories from out time at WDW.

So...the objective evidence? It was captured on DH's camera.

Dhorner and myself.

Dhorner, goopysolelady and me.

Dhorner, me, goopysolelady and SunDial.

Where in the World were we? Columbia Harbour House!

We must do this again sometime!

princess::upsidedow

ps. For anyone who was there at this DisMeet and has the corresponding similar picture from their camera, please post! I'd love to have the set collected here as well.

Great update and what a fun surprise meet!!

LOVE love love the pic of the Mad Hatter peeking down......
