I'm really interested in checking out the casino at the Atlantis.

Anyone take in the sites and what advice do you have to have an enjoyable time?

Kim

I recommend that you visit Atlantis. The casino was pretty big. The entire hotel is really amazing and you'll have a blast there.

Depends what your casino interests fall into. My wife likes 25/5¢ slots, and the last time we were there, the selection of them was pitiful.

I played quarter slots and racked up! I went in with only $15 (okay, I was broke) and walked out with over $75 just from the slots.

I had fun.

Sue Ellen - luck was with you. Many years ago I went to the Paradise Island casino (well before Atlantis was there). It was the last day of our cruise and I was broke as well and came out winning $100. Guess my luck only lasted that one trip. As Mark said when we were there they didn't have a very good selection and what they did have wasn't paying for me.:D

Any cheap ($5 per play or less) 21 tables at Atlantis?

Thanks,
Sam

Sam - yes there are a few $5 blackjack tables....

It was a fairly typical casino - sort of small if you've been to Las Vegas....

Do they allow children in? Not to gamble, of course, but to at least walk through?

We walked through with our DD, the security people didn't like that - as apparently we weren't walking through fast enough.

Heh - we were trying to take in the sights on our walk through. ;)

Of course DH was trying to do a few slot machines here and there too!

My Hubby and I love Atlantis. WE have been there 4 times and have wone 3 out of 4 times. The best we ever did was winning $350.00.

Thank you all for your responses! I was hoping to get in a little poker...

Hubby will have to stay with SIL, MIL and DD and DS. I've got the gambling bug :)

You HAVE to walk with your kids through the casinos if you want to buy tickets to the "Dig". The ticket booths are smack in the middle of the casino. Bad idea if you ask me. Too much smoke and far too attractive to little kids (want to play the "video" games).

We went on this past Tuesday and both my DH and I were very disappointed in it. TO begin with, the had about 1/3 of the casino cordoned off (machines and all) the sign said they were making improvements or something. THen there was a very little selection of quarter machines. My DH go to Biloxi ALOT and I was not impressed with the casino. IMHO it was not near as nice as The Grand or The Beau Rivage in Biloxi. We wasted $50 bucks at the casino and I wish we hadn't. I don't mind losing money from gambling, but I at least expect to be given a little to play on or to enjoy myself for a bit, but not so at this casino. $50 was gone in as little as 20 minutes. I say dont waste your time or your money.

DH and "the boys" took a late night trip to The Atlantis while we were docked overnight a couple of weeks ago. He's a huge poker player and was pretty disappointed in the casino. He said there were very few tables in general to play on and pretty expensive. They were only gone a couple of hours, including getting there and back, so it was clear they didn't enjoy it much.

I've tried the Atlantis casino twice and each time left very disappointed. Many of the slot machines were not working and nothing was paying out at all. Not only not for me but for those around me.
I won't put another quarter in any of their machines again.

It doesn't sound too promising. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post!

I for got about that CRSNDSNY thanks for reminding me, after 1/3 of the casino was cordoned off for "improvements" what slot machines that were left, half of those didn't work.

We walked through the casino with DD (6 year old) right past security during the day. The place was dead, so maybe that was why they didn't bat an eye. We even let her lose $20 on a slot machine. It took all of 15 minutes.
