Hook 'em! I'm from Austin, just graduated from UT. I'll be heading out to Orlando in August to do my 2nd CP.

Awesome! I'm graduating in December and hopefully doing my first CP in Spring 2008. I wanted to go this past spring, but in the College of Education you don't get any credit for it at all, so you have to basically drop out of the university to go.

Yeah, I was in the College of Communication and they didn't give any credit for it either. Pretty much all of UT doesn't give credit. I was a campus rep when I got back from my first CP and found out how much UT doesn't like Disney or the CP. They quit letting us even put posters up to promote the CP! I had to take 18 hours one semester just to make up some time, but it was worth it. Good luck with the rest of your studies! You're almost done!

OMG-UT doesn't like Disney?! Now I'm SO glad that DS didn't go there! Disney comes to his school for both the CP and the All-American College Band, so he's been real lucky. Not like Disney? I'm shocked-but not totally surprised!

I know! They're crazy! Apparently UT doesn't want any of their students to have those soft skills (like talking in front 1,000s of people, multi-tasking, networking, etc.) students learn while on the CP. Or to have the biggest company on their resume before they even graduate. Not that I didn't love going to UT, but they could be pretty stubborn sometimes when it came to the CP. Your son's lucky he's got a school that actually welcomes Disney.

im from texas too!! i have family and friends all over the state so im pretty familiar with lots of places. i grew up in katy (houston) and go to school out in san antonio. and assorted family members all over. nice to meet you all!
