Anyone from Oklahoma???

I live in Norman. Originally from Ohio but the Air Force brought me here and now we are waiting for my wife to retire before we leave.

I'm in Oklahoma - Broken Arrow. I too am a Sooner fan! Way back when, I tutored the football team in Math:) We are going to WDW May 23rd - 28th. This is our first trip since having kids. The kids are 8, 6, and 4 so they are the perfect age. No one takes naps (except Dad), everyone can swim, and the 4 year old (5 when we go) is over 40":)

Hey Jalva22 I graduated from Chandler in 82, my cousin whose going to Disney with me this June did in 84. Loved it when the Lions beat my Tigers this football season. They needed a good awakening!

Another Okie here. :teeth:

We're going on our first trip in July '06. How many of you fly out of TUL? We live about 40 minutes from it, but we are gonna fly out of Kansas City (MCI), cause NOBODY out of TUL flies nonstop to Orlando. (MCO) We can go nonstop from MCI for the same price as going from TUL to ATL to MCO. Dang that is a lot of letters! LOL!

Nice to see so many Sooners on the board. :cool1:

Another Chandler native here!! We live in Arkansas now, but I was born and lived the first 18 years of my life in Chandler - until I went away to college. I still have lots and lots of friends there. My mom lives in Tulsa now and my sister in OKC.

Can you believe there are actually three of us from tiny old Chandler on the DIS???? Wow. Just makes you wonder who else is out there . . . :earseek:

That's our problem, too. We live over the line in SW Missouri (DH works in Fayetteville). We used to fly out of TUL, but we've been flying out of NW Ark. (XNA) for our last few trips. It's a REALLY user-friendly airport - very quick. It's not nonstop to Disney, but we can get shorter layovers and the fares are usually cheaper than TUL. We can be in Fla. in a little over 4 hours. And it beats that drive to KC!

Hi to Loribell and hi again to Jem (we exchanged pm's a few months back, right?). Loribell, I sent you a pm. I'm also a CHS class of 84 grad!

Yep. One of my best friends from high school is actually married to Jalva22's brother. I was in their wedding! How bizarre is that! :smooth:

Born in Miami, OK. Moved to Calif for a short time then back to Miami and moved to Texas in 96.

OK, I am the mother of an Okie. My daughter was born at University of Oklahoma hospital in OKC. My hubby us an OU alum. We love Oklahoma and hope to go back someday. We are stationed in NC now. He just got back from Iraq a month ago and the 2 of us are headed to WDW April 10-17th just the 2 of us. My parents are DVC members and they gave us points to stay at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. Can't wait.

This thread kind of caught my attention. We're currently living outside Houston, but it looks like we'll be transferred to OK City by the end of the year. Can anyone suggest which neighborhoods in OK City or surrounding cities would be good to look at??????????

I live in a small town that is about a 20 minute or so drive out of OKC. Unfortunately in the past few years the prices of housing around here have gotten way out of hand.

There are other small towns surrounding areas that are pretty nice. Newcastle and Blanchard are small towns like I live in, but are even a bit closer than Tuttle to the Metro area. You might consider Yukon or Mustang, both have pretty good school systems. My family lives in Shawnee and housing values there are a lot better than around here. You might even look in to Norman or Moore, both are pretty nice communities but are larger than the others.
