i would love to find some others who are getting married (or who did get married) in disney world, and who live in maryland. there seem to be tons of brides from the surrounding states, but not too many from here...

look forward to meeting you!

Hi ellej..
I'm from MD!!!!!!!!! I am getting married in disney on Sept 3, 2007. :cool1:
what part of maryland are you from???

I am also from Maryland - where abouts are u? I got married at Disney on 9/9/06

i am from carroll county. where are you both from? and congrats on your recent wedding, jeepgal, and i hope the planning is coming along great for you, scottsbride!

are either of you having a reception/or did you have a reception back in MD after your weddings? are/were you intimates? customs? i'd love to hear the details. we are actually heading down to WDW this weekend to meet with our WP to discuss some details and to show my fiance disney because he hasn't been there since he was 3! so i am really hoping he likes it as much as i do! he's being so great about getting married there even though he hasn't been in so long... ;)

I live in charles county -

I was a custom bride - cinderella's coach, major domo, mickey and minnie and stitch at the reception. I had a welcome party the night before - Illuminations Dessert Party and the day after I had a farewell breakfast at Ohana's. Let me know if u have any questions - I'd be more then happy to meet and to help!!

I didn't have an at home reception

that sounds awesome, jeepgal! the carriage is gorgeous. how many people went down for your custom? where did you all stay? did you also honeymoon at disney?

and how was breakfast at o'hanas? we are thinking of having a birthday dinner for my DF's mom there during the wedding week and have heard really good things about it, but i'd love to hear your take on it.

and did you enjoy the characters? we have decided not to have them because there are some other things we'd like to spend money on, but i loved the idea of either having minnie and mickey or alice and the mad hatter (my showers have been tea-themed and our reception back home is a garden-party theme).

thanks for all your help! i really appreciate it! and i hope you are still enjoying every minute of being a newlywed!

the carriage was so worth it!! we had about 30 people come down for our wedding. They stayed at various places - some stayed off property, a few at ASM, one couple at the boardwalk, one couple at the dolphin, one couple at Port Orleans and the rest at the yacht club - we stayed at the beach club as we are DVC members.

Breakfast was great - tons of food! And we got characters again - we also had all our guests dressed up in some form of hawaiian print shirts or dresses and had leis for all of them. Pics came out great. I have also eaten dinner at Ohana's - it is all very good.

the characters were awesome - we didn't have them for the cake cutting but got them for the dancing - they were awesome and could really dance! Stitch even led the cha cha slide! it was great. Mickey and Stitch had a dance off - Mickey threw a whammy on Stitch and then Stitch busted out some moves to include the thriller move and then brushed Mickey off (like brushed his shoulders off) it was hilarious and so much fun.

we also did the confetti drop at the end of the night and that was really cool and provided for some great pics.

I have seen a wedding that was done in the mad hatter tea party style and those are awesome - if u can fit it in - I would get Alice or the mad hatter or even the queen of hearts - that would be too cool

our guests are still talking about it all - one of my sarcastic friends said that he will come to all my weddings - i said well we will have some VR's! LOL

yes we are still enjoying newleywed life!! thanks

let me know if u need anything... :wave2:

I just moved to SC from Bel Air (Harford County) a year ago. Does that count? :thumbsup2 I still LOOOOOVE my RAVENS!!!!!!

Hi guys.. :wave2:
sorry for the late reply.. i'm from western MD... Hagerstown. I was born and raised there but am currently living in Alabama for the next 9 months.
My fiance is from chicago and has moved to MD.
we are hoping the budget allows the horse and carriage!!!

SRUAlmn--of COURSE that counts!! and i have spent my very fair share of time in bel air! how is SC treatin you? and, yes, the ravens are hard NOT to love. i go to almost every game. it's a serious love affair. :teeth:

and scottsbride--you are living in alabama now? where is your fiance living in md? will you head back to md after the nine months? well, either way, i hope you get your horse and carriage!!

jeepgal--thanks for the words about o'hanas. and we are also dvc members, so we are staying at the boardwalk, as is everyone else who is coming down with us.

i so wish we could have characters. but it just doesn't make alot of sense since we are an intimate and aren't having an actual "reception" other than dinner and cake. but how awesome it would be to see stitch "brush his shoulders off" at mickey. ha!

i can't wait to get down to wdw this weekend to check out franck's and meet with our WP and see what other things we can do for an intimate that are as fun as the custom stuff you did!

WARM and SUNNY!!!! :rotfl: Most of the reason why we left our beautiful Maryland. I miss my professional sports and the inner harbor, though. Especially the aquarium. The one here stinks!! It needs a dolphin show :):)

yes, i can imagine the weather is quite a bit nicer and more consistent in SC than back up here, SRUAlmn. :sunny:

yeah, the baltimore aquarium pretty much rocks. but nice weather is a really, really hard thing to beat. it's one of the reasons i love florida so darn much. :teeth:

did you grow up in MD, as well?

ellej,
have fun in WDW at ur PS - there is a lot of stuff u can do for the initimate - I went to an intimate in Aug and she had extra flowers and a different cake - it was beautiful!

ellej,
I hope you have a great planning weekend, can't wait to hear about it!!! are you doing a tasting?? i've heard that is a MUST!!! we probably won't be doing a planning sessio til the spring. i can't wait!

well, we aren't having a tasting this weekend since we aren't a custom, but we're definitely heading to franck's on monday morning to meet with our WP and to check out all the fun extras that we might not know about.

my mom and i are also having make-up trial runs done after we meet with our WP, which should be a lot of fun! i love stuff like that! we're doing this while my DF and my dad head to carolyn allen's to check out tuxes.

but i'll let you all know how it goes!! thanks for the well wishes. i am SO excited. i hope you all have a great weekend!!
