If so, have you ever flown out of Patrick-Henry Field (NNews/Williamsburg Intl)? Does this airport offer skycap curbside check-in. We usually fly out of ORF but chose this smaller airport for price.

Richmond, here, but I've flown in and out of Newport News, since AirTran decided to pull out of RIC a few years ago and stayed at PHF.

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe they offer curbside check-in. Even so, the airport is small. I've never experienced any delays in checking in.

many thanks to both of you for your replies.;) I did not think that PHF offered curbside checkin because it was not listed on Delta's site as having such. Also, it's good to see others on this board that are close to home::yes::

We're from Va. Beach, and we always fly out of Norfolk. We love flying SWA, because the flights to MCO are nonstop.

greetings from Elizabeth City. We also have always flown out of Norfolk but got a better rate this time around by flying Delta Connection out of PHF. Although the flight stops in Atlanta, it is only a 45 minute layover and we couldn't pass up the low fare from there.:bounce:

i dont beleive it has curb-side check-in the lines dont normally dont get long

I'm from Richmond but alwyas fly out of Newport News and Norfolk.

Newport News is very tiny. I didn't notice if they had curbside check in or not. AirTran has always left on time when we've used them. Southwest has not.

thanks Pooh Girl;) We're flying Delta Connection. Any knowledge of their service out of PHF?

I'm not totally sure but i think they have 2 flights out to Atlanta and 2 back a day. i maybe wrong.

Just wanted to say Hi to my neighbors! I didn't realize there were so many of us on the DIS!

I don't know the answer to your question, because we always check-in inside. We used to fly Airtran out of Newport News, but haven't since Southwest has come to Norfolk.

disneycc, Hi Neighbor!;) It is good to know that there are a few of us on The Dis from this area. Va. Beach seems to dominate but all the cities listed feel like home. I spend alot of time in the Va. Beach area because my parents and sister live there. My DW says the shopping is excellent:rolleyes: Anyway, hope all of you have wonderful times on your next visit to WDW:Pinkbounc

I live in NN and fly out of PHF all the time. There is no curbside check-in. ASA (Delta Connection) has 7 daily flights to ATL. ASA is notorious for mediocre service, check flyertalk.com

tribe01, tks for the link. Would you care to elaborate on ASA's service reputation:confused:

I didn't realize there were so many of us either. Checking in from Chesapeake.

We flew out of Newport News last time we went 2yrs ago and it is a small airport and no lines. There weren't skycaps either.

We leave Sunday and are flying out of Norfolk on Southwest. Couldn't find a better rate out there.

Hi Michelle! Glad to see there is another Diser from this area to add to the discussion. Have a wonderful trip;)

The three times I have flown on ASA, the plane had mechanical delays for about 2-3 hours. The agents are pretty surly in ATL and not forthcoming with flight information. I never had any problems with the flight to ATL, just always the return.
