Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

So glad everyone has joined us for the cruise. Haven't been here much myself, but I am still counting down the days!! STILL, no word on whether there is room for my Mother. She actually said yes to us, but Disney hasn't given her the OK. Hope it is soon so she can start coming to this site!

Hopela- Why such a bad few weeks?? I know the weather has been a downer for us here. LOTS of snow. Although today was in the high 30'S. Feels like spring! :sunny:

Just life in a small town. Rumors and allegations flying around. Normal small town junk! Just had enough :earseek:

Can't wait to get to Florida and see the Magic!

Why hasn't Disney given your mom the Okay yet??

Hope

I read on another post that they aren't doing pin trading with the CMs. You can still trade but not with them. Anyone know that to be true?

Yeah, thats true, unfortunately, alot of people are upset because thats the highlight for alot of people, you can still trade with other pin traders, but none of the CM's...and if you read the board its got alot of good points to it too. It's all because of those sick people on the other ships

only 67 more days! :hourglass

Hi, there. Just when I didn't think I could wait any longer on telling the kids, everything fell into place for how I should do it. We were riding in the van when the subject of vacation came up. I asked them where they thought we were going. My oldest said, "Brigantine, right." (We have a timeshare in Brigantine, NJ). I said, "Nope, we're going to space bank it for next year." I told them we were going on a cruise, and it was my younger son who said, "Oh, that's why you were doing all that research on the computer." He caught me a couple times looking at stuff on the internet and I'd tell him I was doing research. They were so excited. I was amazed how much they already knew about going on a cruise and that Disney even had a cruise line. Nevertheless, they had a lot of questions about what we would do and what we would see, etc. It was glorious to have answers for them that created even more anticipation and excitement for them.

Talk about timing, when we got home, our Disney Cruise DVD was in the mailbox. Of course, they wanted to watch it right away. Excellent leverage for a mom who wanted the house cleaning done first. ;)

Some time next week, we're going to make a countdown calender. :Pinkbounc

It seems like most of you have daughters about my son's age. He's 10. He'd like to email with someone his age but preferably another boy. Anyone with a 10ish year old boy who would correspond with my son? And, is there a kids' forum for this?

One more question: DD wants to know if they let you wear waterwings or use floats in the pool. I'm thinking not, but I said I'd ask.

Yazee1- I have a 8 (Sean)and 12 (Kyle). You can have your son e-mail my boys at JKSSANDS@BELLSOUTH.NET. He would be with my 12 yr old at the kid club. They would love to get an e-mail. :sunny:

Anyone going have a 8 or 9 yr old boy going on this cruise? My son is looking to talk to someone that would be in his age group.

Nope, just a cute almost 9 year old girl princess:

It seems so unreal that we are this close. I booked in March of '04!!

Great news! My mother got the approval just yesterday to join us!! I am so excited for her! Of course, cruising with my 4 little ones is no lazy vacation, but they love thier Nana and are very excited for her to join us. We spent the night last night filling her in on what to bring. She already ordered a bathing suit!
Well, I think it is time to start putting all the summer clothes together and start organizing! Just about 8 weeks out now! :cool1:

Thanks, Jill. I will tell older ds that he can write to your son.

Dh and I were considering asking to have our seven year old be grouped with the 8 and 9's since his birthday is very close to cruise date, but after considering what it's like to be the littlest in a group of mostly older kids, I reconsidered.

Only 8 more weeks. I haven't been this anxious for a fast forward button on time since the last time I was pregnant!

You wont really need any waterwings the Mickey pool is 18" deep at its lowest and his ears are 11", the goofy pool is about 48", so if you really dont want to think about it just go over to the mickey pool :) the only time you might need them is if you get off on the beaches, but i know they're allowed there. :)

 I bought some things today for the cruise. I'm getting more excited about it  I can't wait!! My DH left today for the Super Bowl. He is staying on one of the cruise ships. He has a room with a veranda. I think it's Carnival. Not quite sure this is a gift to him from his sister. Great gift. So now DH will have been on a cruise ship before me. He dosen't get to come with us in April.

I can't believe we are almost to the 60 day mark!! :cool1:

I bought my dd two more cruise outfits. I think she is ready, except for a bathing suit.

I bought my film. I am looking for an expensive over the door shoe holder. Can't seem to find one. Looked at WM, theirs are like $10. I checked big lots. They didn't have any either. I didn't have one last trip. We only had three in the room and it was a mess. With four in our room this time, I am hoping to cut down on the clutter!!

Hope everyone has a great evening watching the Super Bowl. See everyone SOON!!!!

whoo hoo...almost 60 days!!! :hourglass I'm gonna watch the Superbowl just for the commercials tonight :P cant wait for our cruise...my mom makes the final payment today, then its all for the excursions!!! We're definately parasailing now...but I'm gonna check out some of the previous Personal Navigators from http://dcltribute.com see what else they've got going on...whohoo!!!

hey turk.......if you go to castawayclub(dot)com there are more up to date navigators!!! I read them ALL the time :cloud9:

I took my DS's to the disney outlet store on Sunday. They really wanted some Disney pins to take on the ship to trade. They did have a few pins there for $4.00 but the resdt were regular price. What we didn't know was that you can trade with the workers there. So we got a bunch of $4.00 pins and traded for some different ones. One of my sons trades 7 pins and the other traded 6. It worked out so good for us. They have pin trading once a month there. So we will go back in a few weeks for that. Last one they had they offered a special grab bag with 10 pins for $10.00. They will most likely do that again. This has gotten them even more excited about the cruise.I did spend to much money in the store. They both have 13 pins and I have a few more that they can earn by doing work in the house.

Turk- My son is having a great time emailing with your brother!!

Anyone else who has kids and would like to email with my boys 8 & 12 let me know I'll give you my email to send to.

I have been reading this site for a while and finally decided to reply. I guess I was just shy. I have learned so much info, I can't believe how much there is to think about. I have an 8 year old and 5 1/2 year old, both boys. We are also going with my MIL. I am really getting excited as it gets closer. I love reading and finding out all the good stuff.

Melissa

Hi Melissa!
I've been thinking about you and meaning to PM you. How is your planning going? It's coming up quickly now!
Mary

Melissa- So glad to hear that there is another boy that is 8 going. If he would like to email with my 8yr old (Sean) they could get to know a little about each other before they go on the cruise. They would be in the same group.
JKSSANDS@BELLSOUTH.NET

Mary,

I have been thinking about you also. I have been busy planning and reading
these boards. We decided to do the air with disney and hopefully that will work out for us. I am still undecided about the excursions, I think we will go to Paradise beach and that's all I've committed to. Hope life is good for you in Rockaway- who know's we could have been at the mall or somewhere at the same time and not even known it.

jkssands, I will definitley have my son Jeremy contact your son Sean. It would be nice for them to get to know each other before. My email is Rome8@verizon. net.

Has anyone here purchased gift baskets from Shirley, I was thinking about doing that- but really not sure how it works. These boards are the greatest thing- you can find out more than you wanted to!!!

have a great day- it is getting so close.

Melissa :earseek:
