Hi, there. Just when I didn't think I could wait any longer on telling the kids, everything fell into place for how I should do it. We were riding in the van when the subject of vacation came up. I asked them where they thought we were going. My oldest said, "Brigantine, right." (We have a timeshare in Brigantine, NJ). I said, "Nope, we're going to space bank it for next year." I told them we were going on a cruise, and it was my younger son who said, "Oh, that's why you were doing all that research on the computer." He caught me a couple times looking at stuff on the internet and I'd tell him I was doing research. They were so excited. I was amazed how much they already knew about going on a cruise and that Disney even had a cruise line. Nevertheless, they had a lot of questions about what we would do and what we would see, etc. It was glorious to have answers for them that created even more anticipation and excitement for them.
Talk about timing, when we got home, our
Disney Cruise DVD was in the mailbox. Of course, they wanted to watch it right away. Excellent leverage for a mom who wanted the house cleaning done first.
Some time next week, we're going to make a countdown calender.
It seems like most of you have daughters about my son's age. He's 10. He'd like to email with someone his age but preferably another boy. Anyone with a 10ish year old boy who would correspond with my son? And, is there a kids' forum for this?
One more question: DD wants to know if they let you wear waterwings or use floats in the pool. I'm thinking not, but I said I'd ask.
