Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

So less than 60 days out..when do will start to receive our documents???
Now I am starting to feel the need to shop... Rainy and cold here today, I think I will venture out and look for some tropical wear! My mother just got the OK last week and she already had 2 new dresses bought!! :cool1: She is doing the DCL dance!

The last cruise we got our documents about three weeks before we sailed.
I have to start shopping soon. My oldest dd doesn't have any summer clothes that fit her :)

I am not going to buy me anything new for the cruise. My dh accidentally put us in a financial bind before the trip. He was driving to work at 5:20 AM and a deer jumped in front of his car. He hit it head on. Luckily, he was okay and the deer didn't go through the windshield. But, we still have to pay to get his car repaired. I am hoping I don't have to dip into my spending money!!

I think March is going to be a really long month. I am not really looking forward to it.

I bough colorful ribbon to place on our luggage so we can identify it fast when we are getting off the ship. The last cruise, my mom ended up with someone else's luggage. Luckily, we noticed it while loading the van! So, we are going to take care of that problem with colorful ribbon.

Hope every one has a happy Valentines Day!!!

Smart idea about the ribbon. Sorry to hear about the suicidal deer. Been there, done that, too.

I haven't bought anything for the cruise yet. I keep hoping if I wait long enough I'll be a different size. I've been exercising and watching what I eat to lose some weight. I don't mind a little bit of pouchy tummy but I'm tired of being asked when "I'm due".

I'm not heavy but I also have the pouch thing going and I have been asked "when are you due?" That is the worst thing to be asked when your not pg. I'm going to the gym in the morning and see if I can just go for the 2 months before the cruise. Hope that will work.

Well, now I feel guilty eating these girl scout cookies with all the exercise talk!! Oh well, I am happy and I love my gs cookies!!!

My problem is I've been craving sweets!!! Cookies sound good. I think I will have some.

Step away from the cookies!!! Just to keep this a cruise related post, and I am kind of curious...what does the average lady look like on a Disney cruise? All shapes and sizes or does there tend to be a lot of svelt bodies. Particularly well dressed or looking like she would on any given summer day?

I was good last night I only had 2 cookies. I did go join the gym to day. I go in at 4 to get weightand mesurments done. Start training on Monday. Hope the claothes I have bought for the cruise will still fit after I loose a little weight.

A little more on the disney stuff. I got 2 more disney pins today for my boys. This cruise is going to sneak up on us. Not a lot of time left till we sail!!!

From what i noticed there's a wide variety, but then again, I'm a teen and wasnt particularly looking @ the older women :P But I love 2 ppl watch so 1 day i decided to go look in the Lobby and there was plenty of shapes and sizes :teeth:

only 57 more days for me!!! :hourglass

8 more weeks and it is our turn!!! :cheer2:

I can't wait...........Is everyone planning on getting to the port early? We are staying in Titusville Friday night. I am sure I will have everyone up as early as possible to drive to the port. I don't know why I want to be there as soon as the doors open, but I DO

I am going to Target today to look for the over the door shoe holder. Didn't use one last time and we had a big mess on the desk. Hoping that the shoe holder will cut down on that!!!

Is there anything else that we should NOT forget to pack???? I have been looking for laynards at WM and can't find them! I need something for my girls to carry their KTTW cards in. Any suggestions?

Have a good day.

Hope

Back from not posting for a while - Sorry about that - But I have been keeping up on the posts -

All Southern CA cruisers - We booked our flight for this cruise - But we did it a little different - We purchased one-way tickets - Flying out on Delta the day before (I believe it is a 10am flight) Then on the return, we are flying out American - (2pm flight) Having a non-stop is very important to us - Doing it this way, each ticket came to about $267 per person (roundtrip, it was $133 each way) Just thought I would give the heads up to anyone else -

No excursions booked here either - I am really interested in the wave runner tour on CC - That sounds really cool - Something I would like to do -

There are all shapes and sizes on the boat - Not a big deal - A person's size doesn't bother me - Love the skin your in - It's when a person's attitude stinks - now THAT really bothers me

So the girl scout cookies are in? oh-oh - I haven't received mine yet!

Hope - I admire you for living in a small town - I couldn't do it - I would hate for everyone to be in my business, or assume things - But that being said, I do know that there are advantages to living in a small town - Hope the rumor mill ends soon for you!

I am so excited for this cruise I can hardly stand it!

Karen

Hope: My family plans on being there at opening of the doors too. My sugjestion, go tell your kids to sit in the line and wait, me & my older sister did last time and we were about the 15th or so onto the boat...so exiting =) We ran right up to the Beach Blanket Buffet and we were one of the first to eat, of course they were trying to shuffle everyone over to parrot cay, we avoided it :) but it was very exiting!

Lets hope my mom finnaly buys the airline tickets, shes procrastinating because she thinks the prices are too high right now, but she said that she'll buy them by the 22nd, I get the feeling she will be buying them by Midnight of the 22nd, i keep telling her she better hurry because we've got a party of nine to get on that plane, oh welll

Oh...I love cable internet now *huggles Mediacom for giving it to them...with a nominal monthly fee of course XD*

Only 56 more days!!!

Found my over the door shoe holder at Target for $6. I am hoping that it will help with the clutter. I am also bringing our laundry bag that we take camping with us. Last time we threw our dirty clothes in the corner of the closet............YUCK. I want a room that is in order this time. It is funny the things you learn after taking the first cruise.

I can't believe that we are getting so close. My box is getting bigger and bigger  Lots of little treasures in there :cool1:

Has anyone seen the disney colored/themed walkie talkies? Well, we bought some, I am hoping they work on the ship. It will give my dd's more freedom.

Well, it is time for disney dreams....... :cloud9:

Hope

I still have to get my over the door shoe holder. I also need to make sure my boys have some nice clothes that fit them now. They have been growing lately. I have been sneaking money away so my DH dosen't know how much money we spend while we are gone. We are going next weekend to a pin trading at the disney outlet store. My boys can't wait for that. I have been making them work around the house to earn them. Great way to get stuff done around the house.

Jill

Last cruise we jsut brought an empty bag that we stuck our dirty close in, we jsut tucked it away under the desk, worked very well too, i couldnt really tell you how much clutter we had in our room last time though, i was only in it about 15 minnutes a day, excluding my sleep time of course, but i was jsut in there to dress for dinner and change back after, and the Mandatory Boat drill of course, we cant miss that =/

only 55 more days! :hourglass

Wow, I go away for a few days and this thread has had a growth spurt.

Jill, I guess you found a gym that has monthly enrollment. That's great. Maybe, we can keep each other accountable. Check in could be called "cookie count" ;) I thought about you when I went to the Shoprite. The girl scouts are doing a booming businees by the entrance/exit.

Room Clutter - I hate the idea of it. Fortunately, we have two rooms for the five of us, so I don't think it's going to be a problem. Maybe, I'm being naive?

Clothes - haven't bought a thing but I have a couple dresses I bought three years ago for a Hawaiian luau party.

Things for the kids - haven't bought a thing.

Walkie-Talkies - we wound up with 2 pairs (5 mile range) of these when we left one pair at my in-laws but they insisted the set wasn't there and we bought another set. Before we moved here, we used to live in an even more rural area and we, as well as our neighbors had at least a couple acres. It was much easier to keep in contact with the kids with the walkie-talkies than a phone.

Excursions - I've booked two on line. Dune buggie trip in Cozamel and 3 hour trip with Captain Marvin's in Grand Cayman. We're not planning to do much in Key West.

Hope - the other day, I was in the mall in our home town (also kind of small) and there was a plaque with a saying about smalls town. You probably have seen it. It says something like "If you don't know what's going on in your own house, just ask your neighbors" .

I'm thinking of buying snorkeling gear and sand toys and bringing them with but it sounds like a lot of hassle to tote them around and keep track of the stuff when we're not using it and want to do another activity or excursion. Dh has to have his own snorkel stuff because he requires a prescription mask.

When will we be able to see the navigator for our week? Aren't there theme events for which we should pack special clothes (not talking about formal dinner)?

We bought our walkie talkies too. Especially with my Mom going. She can escape by herself but still be in touch with us !! Bought Moms tickets this week too for the plane.
Can't believe its less than 2 months! CAN't WAIT! :Pinkbounc

Mom couldn't resist the special Florida rates for the Magic so here we go again. This is our first time on the DCL and DM wants to know when they open the doors for embarkation. Also, any other useful tips, specific to DCL, would be appreciated. :cool1:

:cloud9: Daniela :cloud9:

Welcome!!! The doors open at the port at 10 AM.......we usually start boarding around noon. I plan on being as close to the ship as possible by 9:30 AM

I can't believe you just booked! I have had ours booked since April 2004!!
My countdown clock used to say 375 days!!
