Anyone for the Maritimes?

We've driven from Halifax 3 times - it was fine with just the two of us, and I would gladly do it again, but I will never do it with kids again...unless I had a lot of time.

Another NS family here! We were hoping to go this Feb., but high airfare has been a budget buster. So, we're going to plan on next Feb., unless a super good airfare pops up! :earsgirl:

Have you tried www.itasoftware.com ?

You don't have to register, just go in under guest:) $451 on Delta isn't too terrible :teeth: ..well, it's not that great, but compared to what it has been..

Good to see so many of us on the Boards!! :goodvibes

:sunny:

I was able to get our flights out of Halifax on Feb 4 with Delta for $384.00 everything in. I just searched and searched online until I found a good deal. Don't give up yet!!!

We are going in March....and flying out of New Hampshire.

It is a long drive, about 7hours...but the flights are sooooo cheap it is worth it. We are flying southwest for 541US taxes in for four of us! Direct flights!

I don't know if we could drive the whole way...but 7hrs is nothing. We flew out of Maine last year and paid around 1200cnd, and still drove 5hrs!

Happy Planning all!!!!

Hi I'm a Newfoundlander from CBS too!

We are going from Feb. 12 - 18, very excited!!

It's me, DM, DF, DS, DBIL, 4 kids under 6 :hyper:

We are travelling March 1-13

We are doing a few days at Disney before our cruise Mar4. We are doing the water parks after the cruise.

Can't wait!!!!

We're from Rothesay N.B. We just got back on Dec 24th and had the most wonderful time. It was the kids 1st trip. They're 7 & 8 , and what a wonderful age to go ! It's so nice to see we're not the only fanatic Maritimer's ! I got so much info and advice here on the boards and it was all immensely useful. I can't imagine having seen or understood so many "little known facts". I planned for a year without much help from my husband, but now that we're back, he's so addicted, it's all he thinks about. I've created a monster! :rotfl2: I have lots of information for anyone who has questions. :goodvibes Elisa

Elisa,

I know what you mean.....I have been obsessed with going back since our trip last year.....I booked our cruise within weeks of returning to NB.

I look on the boards all the time...and know the trips would not be the same without all the great info.

We have 6weeks before we go again...and I have allready taken out the suitcases!!!

Yes, we stayed at the all Star Movies as our children are still young enough to appreciated the theming and it was in our budget so we could have as long a trip and do as many things as we did. My sister inlaw works for Avis and got us a good deal on a rental car which we picked up at the airport. We figured it was worth it because Sea World was the 1st part of our trip and we couldn't do Disney transportation for that. Plus my son has a milk allergy and I knew we'd need stops to a grocery store for his soy milk.It was really worth it this time around as it allowed us to get around more quickly. I know it's a big debate about using Disney or rental car, and I do like both, but with young ones out late at night and often there's standing room only on the buses it was convenieant and fast to have a car . ( How's that for long winded !) Next time we might not get one though! Anything else you want to know? I love to talk about it but my friends are sick of it. I should mention that we used AAA ( through our CAA agent [better deal]) and we had a special Diamond parking pass that on most days got us a parking space in the 1st row of parking at the parks. Another thing, my husband did the Segway tour in Epcot if anyones interested in knowing more. Elisa :goodvibes

I'm a bit worried about using the discount codes found on mousesavers.com for the rentala car.... since your sister works at Avis, would you know if it's ok to us them? Someone from another post told me that I really shouldn't us them~~ also what about insurance.... ?

I used the rental car codes found on Mousesavers....but I don't think it saved me anything!

I booked with and then my sis booked without, not much difference in price.

We went with budget, because the drop off for the cruise is close.
