Anyone fly with JetBlue?

Well let me chime in here. I fly JB every other month. We flew in December and the rep annonced if any adults would like to be moved to the exit row please come to the desk. My DH zipped up and she took our tickets for row 7 (reg. seat) and when she called us up she gave us row 4 extra leg seats. I thought I volunteered for the exit row, but was very surprised to get extra leg seats for free. So yes, they do upgrade for free, at least on that trip. I had to assume that they wanted some adults to give up their seats for families and so our efforts to work with JB paid off for us (and a family). I flew again on JB in January and the flight was only 1/2 full (it was during a snow storm, so I think folks rearranged their flights). The extra leg room seats were almost all empty, so I know no one upgraded, nor were we given an offer like last time. I don't think they offer the upgrade all of the time, but it does happen when it's their offer to us, not the other way around. We'll be back on them again next week too, but I'm happy with my row 7 seats -- I seem to be in the same seat for most flights!

We are flying JetBlue for the first time to MCO soon.. and I am so glad to hear all the great comments!!
It definitly was the cheapest by far!!

This will be my 4yr olds first time on a plane..
He is excited.. and unlimited snacks.... that will make HIM happy!!! :)

The truth is that Jetblue views an "upgrade" to these seats much differently than legacy carriers view an "upgrade" to first class. I fly jetblue 15-20 times a year. The one thing I know is that if you want to guarantee a more-leg-room seat in advance, you have to pay for it. All of the other options that people mentioned are in play. You can ask the gate agent or the flight attendant. They all have the authority to do it for free. They also have the authority to charge. I would think being nice to the agent/FA and the timing are very important. I have been moved to one of these seats free of charge. I have seen other moved to these seats free of charge for various reasons. Even just to let people spread out on a flight that was not fully booked or because the TV in someone;s seat was not working. It's the luck of the draw and how you go about it.

Lastly, I do agree that anywhere you sit on a jetblue plane is going to be comfortable. The more leg room seats are great but the others offer more room than most other airlines anyway so you will notice a big difference.

Gotta tell ya - while every JetBlue flight I've ever taken has been great, my best-and-worst experience was the aforementioned row 25, FAs talking all night flight - NOT for that reason though.

Worst: On entering the terminal, I sat down to adjust my luggage with my to-be-checked bag on the floor in front of me and my carry-on on the floor to my right. I leaned over the arm of the chair to move that bag... and fractured a rib! Yes, there are some medical issues I can diagnose myself. Yeah, yeah, I know - more calcium. I'm working on it :) Anyway, not wanting to pay to change my flight, even though I did have a room for the entire night, I told the counter agent when I checked in, hoping for something more than the "oh, that's too bad" reaction and the prereserved wheelchair I got.

Neutral: got to the gate and the flight was delayed several hours due to continuing bad weather in the tristate area.

Best: This gave me a chance to have some long, though intermittent conversations with the multi-tasking gate agents. I found out through one of these conversations that there were a total of fifty passengers on the flight. What makes this best? There are 150 seats. This meant any passenger who wanted was able to have an entire three-seat section to themselves!

Just booked our Jetblue flight and seats...then heard that the middle seats on the Airbus has some sort of "entertainment storage" underneath so that reduced space for stowing your personal items and/or legroom. Is this correct? Is it a noticable difference? Wondering if I change our seats...
Thanks!

I don't sit in the middle, so... go to seatguru.com, find JetBlue, and find the Airbus. Roll your cursor over any middle seat and see if a message comes up. Or, just pack compactly.

Not doubting you AT ALL. You know I've always respected your information (wait, maybe you don't know that - you wouldn't recognize me using this name!). Again, as of October 2009, the Gate Agents (in Las Vegas) were able to upgrade passengers to unassigned Even More Legroom seats at no charge. Ditto for the December before... when I could have moved from 25 to 3 but refused because I thought the Flight Attendants would spend all night at the FRONT of the plane... but nooooooooooooooooo ;).

But, I do realize things change. As I said, I don't doubt you at all.

Oops! I realize now that I should have said "they may charge you" instead of "they will charge you". DW and I were able to move to that row once without paying when my TV wasn't working, but it wasn't about the legroom it was about the TV. I need my TV when I'm flying!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! :goodvibes

Oh, it wasn't actually a vote of confidence - I'm just afraid to disagree with you!

J/K!!! :roftl2:

This thread is making me very happy because we are flying Jetblue to BOS this summer. They are pretty new to the DEN market (I think since they weren't an option when we flew to BOS two years ago) and I chose them over SW primarily for the seat assignments.
