Anyone flown first choice from nottingham?

The Firstchoice flights from Nottingham are very popular, I think fly on Thursdays and from what I've been told are very good value. They fly into Sandford, which for me is a negative. I fly with Virgin, Premium, so we always get off first and can be at our hotel within 30 mins. After 9 hours I can't have another 90 mins driving.

Also the drop off/pick up arrangements at the airport are a pain!. You are not allowed to pull up outside the terminal building. Instead you have to drive into the short stay carpark and get a parking ticket that gives you 15-20 minutes free parking while you drop off or pick someone up.

Now I'm not 100% on this, but pretty sure I heard it on our local radio that NEMA has now stopped the free ?x? mins parking and ALL parking (incl pick-up and drop-offs) now has to be paid. Anyone confirm this?

Boys being a Derby girl through and through I don't like to admit it but I am afraid it is Nottingham East Midlands.
Anyway back to the thread.
We flew from NEMA in June to Spain and they did operate the free 15 minutes parking. However unlike some airports you cannot pull up right outside the terminal building you have to go through the barrier, get a pass and then pull up. The doors to the terminal are over the road and to exit you just put your ticket in the machine.
We always fly from Manchester as we fly Virgin. Even though NEMA is only 20 mins away I prefer flying from Manchester as there are better facilities.

word of warning: we booked FC to fly from east mids to orlando & they changed our flight AND date to Gatwick a few months before we flew, which in turn totally messed up out Disney cruise, long story, but from what i can gather they dont have a lot of flights to Orlando from East Mids, so you could end up being changed around like us!
This was back in 2002 though so there could be more flights now!!!

Gatwick? Nightmare!!! That is so bad - they should have offered you a refund or at least serious compensation. Hopefully things have improved since then.
