Anyone find they do NOT enjoy E-Nights?

We decided to give this a try on May 17 and found it quite eerie. DH didn't enjoy it at all. He's a people-watcher and thought it was too dark and lonesome. I stayed upbeat, but agreed with him on this one.

Perhaps since the parks were practically empty during our 8 night stay we didn't find E-Night to be such a great deal as during peak periods? I bought the E-Night tickets upon check-in not knowing how slow the parks were going to be. However, I can see how this would be wonderful during the summer heat and crowds.

Of course, if you really LOVE going on everything 5 times in a row, I guess this is the way to go. I forced myself to go multiple times on several rides just to feel like I was getting my money's worth. But we had plenty of time during the day hours to do everything with no lines.

I am not knocking it at all...just wondering if anyone else had the same feeling?

I LOVE E-Ticket nights! You get to pretend you're the only one in the MK. It's dark, it's quiet. Multiple no wait rides. WOW!

On a scale of 1-10, I rate E-Ticket nights at a 100!

Our only experience with e-night was on a night that it was extremely crowded. We had been looking forward to the emptiness and repeats on each ride, but we were barely able to ride each ride once and the lines for the characters were huge. We'll give it one more try.

Pig Pen, I can see your DH's point of view - it is relatively quiet and some would say "eerie"

My perspective on E-Ride night is that it allows me to stroll around the park with minimal crowds - I do not go on the rides all the time, I will have an Ice Cream Sundae from Main Street, sit on the benches near the Castle, watch the people coming down Splash Mountain etc.

During my most recent one, I rode all the attractions that were open except for Haunted House (doh, totally forgot about that one) and Country Bear Jamboree

I find it be pretty quiet and I liked that

Thanks
Jason

I love E-night! We went on May 10 and it was so great to be able to go rides repeatedly and not have to worry about crowds. There were characters in front of the castle with no lines! On our way out, we did some shopping on Main Street and it was great! No lines, no crowds, I loved it!!!! I can see how people may see E-night as being too quiet and eery, but I like that.

Pig Pen,

I agree with you. We have done it one time, and that was enough. For us it really wasn't worth the money. The parks were neither crowded or empty, but it just wasn't worth it for us.

Thanks. I thought maybe I was crazy. Again, if I were going during peak and the lines were long and it was hot, hot, hot, E-Night would probably be a godsend.

We did eventually wind our way over to the castle and Main Street and saw some characters and grabbed a hot dog at the deserted Casey's Corner. DH doesn't like the mountains, so I had to ride alone which may have something to do with my feelings.

I like E-ride nights for that somewhat eerie feeling....to each her own! But then I'm an only child....we tend to like a little space! DH could care less...sometimes he doesn't even go.

What I do find is that I have to pace myself to last through until closing. I can't be Park Commando during the day and then try to do it until the wee hours. Not old, mind, just not as young as I used to be!

Usually on e nights, I lay around the pool, go to the spa or just lay around the room. That way I can really enjoy the park when I get there in the late, late afternoon. Start with dinner at LTT and then do some of things that might not be open later. I learned the first time that you have to EAT because, except for a few things on Main St. the only food they sold almost anywhere else was popcorn. I haven't been for two years so that may have changed.

Still, there is something quite magical about wandering through the Adventureland gateway as it is getting darks with the sounds of the Jungle Cruise and the Tiki Drums going. What could be better than the Haunted Mansion at midnight!!!

I WANT TO GET ON A PLANE NOW!!!

I really enjoy e-night. It's a good thing not everyone loves it or the parks would be so crowded and the best part to me is that MK is not crowded on e-night.

Everyone is different, that's what makes life so interesting :)

We went to the e-ride on May 24th...My DH and 11 yr old DS decided to skip it but I gave my 7 yr old a 3 hour nap and we headed over to catch Spectro and FITS before eride started..how awesome it was to just sit and have a hot dog after the fireworks while everyone else was fighting their way to the buses!! We loved eride night because my DSs favorite rides were the mountains....we rode Space 6x in a row..hiked it over to Thunder and did that 7x w/o even getting off and then did Splash 2x in a row before heading to the castle to greet all the characters no lines no waiting b4 doing Space 2 last times...while my idea of a perfect evening at MK is not riding the mountains upteen times in a row..it was an awesome feeling hearing my son on Space mountain yelling "yeah! alright!! Again...let's do it again!!" and being able TO DO IT AGAIN w/o waiting 1/2 hour each time! I'd definitely take him again!

I've said before that we've been to two e-nights. The first was great! We were able to do our favourite rides multiple times while enjoying the MK at night! The second time was disastrous. It was sooooooo busy that we had to wait in line for Space Mountain for 45min! I'm honestly not exaggerating. We ended up leaving early we were so frustrated. After this experience, dh doesn't want to waste money on e-nights ever again but I'd like to give it another try. I *think* this is a fairly uncommon experience.

Never seen an e-ride night like that - how far into the e-ride night was the 45 minute lineup? Did they have both sides of Space Mountain going?

Been to three e-ride nights - ranged from almost walk-on at Space Mtn (i.e. wait 5 minutes at most) to 10 minutes wait

Your experience sounds odd

Thanks

is it worth it? we would feel really cheated if we did it and still had to wait a long time for the rides. is there any way to judge what the crowd will be? we will be there third week of june.

Only one side was open at space mountain that one e-night. The line-up was out the door. We heard many people complaining to cast members. That e-night was 9-12 on a Friday night June 2001. I heard that Friday e-nights tend to be busier than other nights. This line at space mountain was about 10pm (ish). We went over to Splash and Thunder and they had about a half hour line each. I couldn't believe it. We walked out around 11pm along with a lot of other annoyed people. :(

Wow CJK, I don't blame you for being annoyed. We've been to a few e-nights and the lines were almost non-existent both times. I wouldn't go if it was normally like that.

As for the eeriness, I personally enjoy it. Plus when we go, this might be one of the few chances to see MK at night because the parks tend to close early.

We did the enight on the Sat night of Memorial Day weekend (and the parks were crowded during the day) with no waits (see my post above). I was a little upset at first cuz the park closed at 10 but they were still letting people on the mountains. But about 10:30ish the lines cleared out and then there was absolutely no wait. I think the longest we waited was 5 mins for space mountain the first/second time we rode but then the wait was less and less after that. Someone else on this board had told me to expect the lines to not thin out until 1/2 hours to 45 mins after park closing before you get the short lines...I'm glad I remained patient cuz it turned out well for us!

We've tried it one time. Lines were very long and still crowded. Plus also we did it on the first night we were there. And extremely tired from then on. We hadn't plan on doing an enight. Doubt we'll do it again.

We'll be trying an e-night for the first time on our next trip. This is the first time we've gone to WDW when there's been one scheduled.
