If there is a fellow Dis'er out here familiar with neighborhoods in Framingham I would love it if you could send me a PM. I am thinking of re-locating and have an apartment complex in mind. I won't have an opportunity to go check it out for 2 weeks, just wondering if it's in a decent area.

Thanks!

Hi There!

Used to live in Framingham...now we are out in Central Ma. My dh also grew up there and knows it inside and out. I'd be happy to answer any questions or help if I can.

What complex are you looking at? A lot of them are on Route 9 which is extremely busy......think Route 1 busy.

Hope this helps!

I really like the Nobscot and Saxonville areas. Decently close to Rt 9 but without the huge amount of traffic.

Take a look at Natick, its a much nicer town and the schools are rated much higher. This may be in part to Natick not having the illegal immigrant population that Framingham has.

How are the schools and special ed in the areas?
I really can't say for sure as to the sped options. What I do know is that my dd had a friend a few years ago. The family was pretty much forced to rent an apt in Westborough simply because the ds needed sped...and the towns around just couldn't match what Westborough offered. I know the family looked into Framingham because that's where the girls were going to private school..so I would assume that sped in Framingham wasn't that great. Don't know if they ever checked out Natick. BTW..both girls are now in public school (high school) in Westborough. Ds is enrolled in Westborough but using sped.

I would look into the 'Boroughs' also... Southboro, Westboro, Northboro.

My friend has a daughter that was going to a private school, she is pre-school age with autism. She just relocated to Marlboro so she could attend a public school program.

Not sure if any apartments in Ashland, my friend lives there and likes it a lot.
