We were wondering if anyone has ever gone to MK on the night of a party, such as pirate/princesses or christmas party or mickey's not so scary halloween party and stayed past 7 without a ticket to the event. Did they say anything to you?

they will squeeze you out. i'll admit i was tempted to rip off my wristband in the middle and see how far i can get, but they do take it pretty seriously. they check for wristbands repeatedly and set up 'road blocks' of CMs who will check for wristband.

for the sake of those that actually do legitimately pay to get in for the party, please don't even entertain this idea.

If they see you they are suppose to ask you to leave. I will be honest and tell you that if I saw you are realized you did not have a wristband and were hanging around for the parade and/or shows I would find a CM and turn you in. I agree that it is not fair to those who paid for the party to have it overcrowded by people who didn't. (And I don't think I will pay for the Halloween party again, just not my thing)

Why would anyone even entertain this idea? How fair is it to those who paid?

There were 100's of CMs last year whose only job was to watch for wristbands and ask those without them to leave or prevent them from going into a Land, rides, the bathroom, make purchases etc...

They were quite good and getting those without wristbands to leave, thankfully.

I can understand the question, just from curiosity. There are many nutty people out there that would try to get away with it.

Our first year at the MNSSHP and the first 2 years at MVMCP no one asked us to see our bands and we had on long sleeves for the Xmas party.

When we went back to MNSSHP in 06 and MVMCP in 06 all the CMs asked to see the bands.

That's right. Things changed dramatically last year because it was a whole 'new' procedure for closing down the park and getting it ready for the party; they didn't close the park at all so they had to compensate by having lots of extra CMs to watch for wristbands and block entrance to the Lands with CMs checking for wristbands. It was much different, IMHO than in years past.

In the past, it would have been easier to get away with staying without a ticket but no more. Now that they do not close the park to clear it, the CMs have to be even more diligent and watch out for those wristbands. I think they did a much better job than I thought they would when I first heard that they wouldn't be closing down the park before the party to clear it out.

prior to 06, it was different. the park closed to all non-party guests and there was an hour (?) transition period. if you were in the park during the transition as a party guest, you were isolated to a particular land (usually tomorrowland). presumably once the party started, you had a wristband.

When we went to the MNSSHP last year they were very good about continually checking for wristbands. We even had to have a wristband on our 1.5 yr. old because we were told "Everyone has to have one if they want to stay in the park for the MNSSHP". My 1.5 yr. had a fit with the wristband for awhile but eventually got used to it, good thing because I would have hated to have left him at the resort by himself. (just kidding on that last statement)

I'm new to this and maybe not reading the posting right but are you saying that on certain nights they close the park early and only those who paid for the parade/shows are allowed to stay. My sister in law went to this but I thought it was just a special parade area, I didn't know they closed the park to everyone else. Please correct me if I'm reading this wrong as this would help to decide times to go to the park and times not to if we don't wish to participate in the extra events but still get the ride time. Thanks....

Yes, that's right. Its an 'after hours' event that costs extra money to attend.

We went to the P&P Party in Feb, and CM's were checking wristbands like crazy. They went through the crowd waiting for the Pirate Tutorial and several people were escorted away that didn't have wristbands on. I know we were asked to show our wristbands at least 7 times, I don't remember if it was more than that, but I remember DH commenting on the #. We had to show it at each attraction and ride.

There are certain nights during certain times of the year that the MK holds special parties after regular park hours, such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Micky's Not So Scary Halloween Party, etc. They are "hard ticket" events, meaning you have to purchase a separate ticket to go to the park during the party - a regular park hopper or AP won't get you into the party.

The parties are more than just a parade and/or show. During the parties attractions are operating, sometimes there are "goodies" included (like hot chocolate and cookies during the Christmas party, trick-or-treating during the halloween party) and I believe the parade is different than the normal daytime parade (I know the Halloween one is).

If you're concerned about how much time you will have in the MK just look at the park hours. The MK hours vary from day to day and time of year based mainly on anticipated attendance, even when no special parties are going on.

Thanks for the information... I love learning so much from this forum.

I think it's great that they are diligent by checking. I for one would be really upset if people were able to sneak in and get away with it. Its so not fair to those who have paid.

No, I would not. Simply because, that would be cheating and lying. ;)

Sadly, there are many people out there who are conscience-free that would do anything just to see how much they can get away with.

We were at the MVMCP on Dec. 14, a sold out night, and none of us were ever asked to show our wristbands.:confused3

We were there in Nov 06 for MVMCP and most of the non party people were not allowed pass Casey's on Main St. CM's would block off entrances to the different lands. This made it very crowded and hard for party guests to cross over to other lands. There were ton's of non party guests hanging around Main ST. waiting for the parade! I really thought it was unfair they were allowed to hang out and watch the parade and fireworks for free.
