Was hoping to get a deal from ebay. Worred about getting scammed. Can I get in trouble with disney for buying these? Thanks Tina :confused3

I know that there are tickets to be found on ebay, not sure if I would trust them or not. I mean if you bid and win your tickets and then something happens that your were scammed, then the appeal process could take a while and even though you could end up getting your money back in the end it may not be worth it.

I have seen people win tickets on ebay that they could have purchased cheaper at places like www.ticketmania.com

Go figure.

I wouldn't, there's no way to know if they're what you thought you were getting or not until you get to WDW. No way to have them checked to make sure the # of days left is what you were told.

Also, the new Magic Your Way (MYW) tickets are non-transferrable, I understand that they have to be signed and you do a finger scan every time you use them to make sure it's actually your ticket. If they find it's not your ticket, I don't believe they let you use it anyway.

I was just talking about this the other with my DW ::MinnieMo .I would be very cautious about buying tickets from Ebay because they are scanning you with your ticket when you enter the parks. So if you buy a ticket from Ebay and it has been scanned with someone else who's to say when you go to use it you may not be able too.
Maybe someone else can clarify this but, I wouldn't want to take that chance.

You've had very good advice! :)

To specifically answer your question - Disney isn't waiting to haul you off to Disney jail, so no - you won't "get in trouble" with them, per se.

However, they do retain the right to refuse you entry. As has been said, one of many scenarios can happen:

1.) The ticket may not have been associated with somebody else's biometrics, however what's on the tickets may not match what was listed on the EBay ad.

2.) It very well MAY have been associated with somebody else's biometrics.

In either instance - there is NOTHING Disney will do for you, and you will be out whatever money you spent on those tickets.

I would totally avoid Disney World admission from Ebay. But if you do decide to purchase on EBay, you're doing so at your own VERY high risk.

We just got back and we had absolutely no problem using the tickets we bought on ebay. We got a great deal!
I don't think it's a high risk at all - you just have to make sure you buy from a reputable seller.
I could look up the name of my seller if anyone is interested.
Plus, the tickets we bought came FROM Disney!
Hope that helps. :)

I currently have a thread on the disney budget board, "help, I've done a silly thing - ebay related". I bid on tickets and won. The seller had 99% positive feedback rating. I thought I was OK.

I was going to pay for them but the seller said she would invoice if the buyer wanted to use paypal. Three days went by with no word from the seller. During that time negative feedback came in for the seller. Two people who had paid but had not received tickets. (About $500 each.)

I explained to the seller I would buy the tickets only if the negative feedback was resolved. I don't think that will be happening.

Be careful. It is a huge amount of money to be scammed. Most dealers on ebay are not much cheaper than the ticket brokers that Mousesavers recommends.

Please approach ticketsellers on Ebay with extreme caution. In April I bought four tickets on Ebay from someone that had over 200 positives and no negatives. When the tickets arrived, I read on the back that they were military issue. I am not in the military and neither are the other three people who are in our group. Nothing was mentioned in the seller's ad about these being military issue tickets. When I wrote back to him, he said the person who sold him the tickets said they could be used by anyone. So now I'm wondering how old these tickets are and if others have used some of the days already!! Who knows how many people have bought them and resold them? I called Disney and they said military personnel can buy the tickets and resell them to whomever they want. Well, our trip is coming up in August and until we arrive at the gate the first morning, we will have no way of knowing whether these tickets are good or not. I will never ever consider buying tickets from Ebay again. I would rather spend a little more money and know the tickets are new, unused, valid, etc. etc.

That brings up another good point. A lot of people buy tickets well in advance of their trip. By the time they get to WDW, they already gave positive feedback saying they received the tickets. In order to know if a seller really sold valid tickets, you would have to know whether the people who bought them had received and used them without trouble.

I personally would be too worried about buying tickets off ebay to ever consider it.

Thanks for all the opinions :cool1: I would like the info from nemomama. Tina

I bought them from Ebay and haven't use them yet. But I 'm a little relive that the Date in my tickets are the next day that I bought them, at least they weren't in stock or something. I sent my payment on May 10 and my tickets date says May 11. But yes, you have very careful and don't leave feedback for this or any item bought on Ebay, until you use it. ...Let's see how it goes... :cool1:

If you are looking for cheaper tickets go to mapleleaftickets.com I have bought tickets from them in the past and they are great! My last trip in March I booked two rooms then added a code I found and then bought my tickets from maple leaf...They were the premium ones that had park hopper and magic plus

Buying tickets on eBay is bad. Just don't do it - it's not worth the potential trouble. Would you really want to be standing at the gates with your family at the Happiest Place on Earth and be told you couldn't come in because you bought bad tickets?

That's not a risk I'd ever want to take.

I buy and sell alot on ebay, but I'd never risk getting Disney tickets. No matter how good the seller's feedback was, I would have NO way of knowing if the tickets were any good until I was actually and Disney and that is too much stress and worry for me!

I've gotten great deals from discountorlandovacation.com and even cheaper than I've seen some tickets go for on ebay anyway.

We buy stuff on ebay all the time - every thing from children's clothes & outdoor equipment to antique chandeliers, a grand piano, and two cars.

That being said, I don't think I would ever buy Disney tickets on ebay. I looked into it and seriously considered it in the past, but for the prices they go for, you wouldn't save enough to justify the risk.

Disney has set up their system to make this as difficult as possible (understandably so).

The "older" tickets have no markings as to how many days are remaining (Disney will only tell you how many days left, if you visit in person @ Guest Services).

The "newer" MYW tickets, once activated, are biometricly attacehd to the person who used them first. These biometrics can be reset, but they require a positive ID check.

Net net, the new MYW tickets (if you buy 10 day tickets) are much more reasonably priced than the older tickets.

I'd stick with Disney or authorized resellers (such as AAA, ticketmania or mapleleaf tickets).
