We may be coming in from the west coast and staying at WL.
Assuming the flight is on-time, we'll probably land at MCO at around 5 pm.
Because I'd like to get the most bang for my buck at the resort, I'm thinking about not staying on property the first night. Instead, my plan is to stay at the Hampton Inn near the MCO (free shuttle) and then get on Magical Express the next morning.
This will give us a lot more time to take advantage of the resort on our first day, which will be a non-park day (plus, I'd like to do HDDR that day and feel less stressed about this ADR if we're flying in the previous evening).
I like the Hampton Inn over the MCO Hyatt or a night at a Disney Value because it's less expensive (this will be the tail end of Easter season pricing) and includes a complimentary continental breakfast (moreover, unlike a Disney value, the Hampton Inn has queen beds).
Anyone else ever done this and, if so, did you think it was a good strategy?
