Hi all.

Just wondering if any one has stayed at FW cabins how was it? Transportation? Food? atmosphere? We have room only for 4 days and will probably hire a car to go off site to universal and maybe Cape Canaveral. Then we have the dining plan and a 6 day Park Hopper pass. There's a forum for die hard Campers but I looking for an Aussie perspective.

Cheers

No, but have stayed there in an RV. LOVED it. Make sure you get a golf cart! Transport - I remember boating over to the Contemporary was one option! Really laid back feel, I really loved it.

Keep in mind that Fort Wilderness is a BIG place, the location of your cabin can make a big difference.
Since you will have a car for a few days I would strongly recommend keeping it and using the "convenient curbside parking" at your cabin.
There is an internal bus network to get you around and then the general bus service and boat service, however having done the Segway tour there I would NEVER rely on Disney transport if staying there.

I think that the Fort Wilderness campgrounds sound lovely. I have never been a camper - and don't plan to be one any time soon - but if I had to, I would either want to camp at Fort Wilderness - or the way that Oprah and Gayle did it - with salmon and cocktails!! :lovestruc

I was planning to stay at the cabins until we discovered Double Bed!! DH and I need a queen at minimum! Otherwise we would stayed there ahead of POFQ. I love the little kitchen and a sep sleeping area.

Has POFQ got queen beds now? When we went on CSR has queen beds. We too prefer queen beds, doubles feel so small after sleeping in a queen.

Yes - they were all refurbed earlier this year. All have 2 queens and there are a handful of kings I believe. A lot nicer I think.

Thanks for all the info. DH and I can handle a double bed be so that should be fine. Transportation is a question. I keep getting differing opinions. We don't mind walking to a bus stop and are happy to wait for a short while for a bus to the parks but not too long. If it takes hours to get to the parks in the morn?..Might see how we go.

The more I hear the better it all sounds. Like everywhere there are positives and negatives. It's sounds like FW is going to be fun!
