Anyone ever skip waterparks?

My kids are younger (5 and 2) so, no, we don't go to the waterparks at all. The swimming pool and slide at the resort pools are fine for us!

Come to think of it, a puddle of rain water on the sidewalk is thrilling enough for them ...

No we have never visited any waterparks we don't have the time, this trip we will will be in Orlando for 15 days and each day (as usual) will be in a park (from opening to close)!

We've been to Disney World 5 times in the last 7 years and we have only been to one waterpark - Typhoon Lagoon. Dh and dd swam with the sharks (water tooooo cold for the rest of us plus mom (me) isn't coordinated enough to snorkel without sucking in more water than air) and they LOVED that. DD had a hmmm part of her anatomy get exposed when she came down one of the big slides which is not cool for anyone, much less a 13 year old. Dh and Dbil got dinged up on the way down one of the slides (I don't think they were designed for 6'5" people or maybe they are as uncoordinated as me snorkeling) ds's loved it but they are just as happy at the resort pool. Me, I decided to get a cold beer and get some sun on the beach and while there I got unnerved because a British family was letting their little girl who was 7 or 8 run around TOTALLY naked. I know that people from overseas are a little bit more free with the bod and I don't consider myself a prude but with so many people of all ages around.....I saw others look startled and leave. If we had extra time we might do a waterpark again but like the OP said we have waterparks around us here at home. There is NOOOO place like the Disney parks anywhere but Disney though! You could truly sit me down in Epcot and leave me there to just soak in the sounds and the sights and I'd be as happy as a lark all day. (Preferably near the Cantina so I could sip on a margarita :teeth: ) I don't do that since too many things to see in too little time but I promise ya I'd be happy just BEING there. :cool1:

When the water parks first open we went to them just to see what was what, espically after they closed River Country. Back then, we'ld stay at Disney for 5 days, squeezed in the 3 parks, PI and one water park. Now, we spend 8-10 nights at Disney and have no time for the water parks and don't really miss them. Seems to me, as our bus made stops there, that they are packed and not worth the effort. I feel, let the others go there, that keeps my resort pool less full. Our pool is all the break we need and to get your moneys worth out of a water park, you have to spend the whole day there. Thats alot of time in the Florida sun for me. Two to three hour break from the parks for us, 2 at the pool and one hour in the room and we're ready to go to the parks again!

I've always skipped the water parks. Not through any decision of my own, of course ;)

one of these times I'll get to go, though. Perhaps I'll try and kill myself on that Summit Plummet ride. That ought to do the trick.

We've never done the water parks. We don't have time for them.

LoL, we live in Florida and have been to Disney 50+ times but I have NEVER been to any of the water parks. I'd like to, I think when the kids all get older though so we can enjoy it.
