Good luck convincing DH. My DH isn't so much against the trip but he is trying to do it without spending any money and it is very frustrating. He wants to drive instead of fly and it is about a 16 hours drive with a 5 and 3 year old. It doesn't sound like fun to me. Plus the 5 year old will be in Kindergarten so we are taking the trip during her fall break which is just 6 days. I don't want to waste 2 days of a short trip driving. Plus he said this would be a once in a lifetime trip I said maybe for you and in a couple years I'll take the girls by myself. My DH doesn't do well with crowds either but at least the heat doesn't bother him.

I'd check it out and see how much airplane tickets would cost vs. gas in the car to get there. He may find that driving won't be much cheaper and go with the airplane. I had a friend that drove from Wisconsin to Tennesee in December and it cost them $600 for just gas! With gas prices going up so much it may be worth checking out.

I am hoping to take the kids to WDW for the 1st time early next year. My main concern is getting DH to go. He's always been adament about not going to Florida..
but DH absolutely hates crowds and waiting in long lines. He is also very heat sensative and has a hard time tolerating temps over say 75 degrees.

Any recommendations for a good time -Don't take the husband My husband does not like to travel. I travel with my kids without him. It makes all of our vacation much nicer. My DH sounds like yours he does not like the heat or crowds. If I made him come it would just be torture for everyone I would have to slow down, he would not be able to keep up in the crowds. The only way I would take him is if he decided to stay at the hotel or hang around the resorts with beaches.
