Anyone ever have luck with Thankgiving wait lists?

Our DSs will be heading to WDW with the high school band over Thanksgiving. DH and I will meet them there. We plan on flying in to MCO on Wednesday Nov 23 and flying home Monday November 28. I just got off of the phone with MS and feel pretty lucky with what I got. I booked a studio at OKW for November 25, 26, 27. I went on a waitlist for any studio for Wed. Nov 23 and Thursday Nov 24.


Just curious if any one has had any luck with the waitlist during this time period (this year or previous years).

In Aug '04 we stayed in a studio at BWV. We loved it except for the snoring of my dh!!!! So, when we got home I called MS to see if we could change our Thanksgiving reservations to a one-bedroom...anywhere!! We had booked at VWL for the holiday decor! A week later MS called and said they could give me BWV in a one-bedroom. This was in late August, so I think you stand a good chance. Now, if I could get my waitlist to come through for a studio at BWV instead of BCV right after Thanksgiving!!!

Last year we called a few months out and got a one bedroom at OKW for the week of Thanksgiving for every day EXCEPT Thanksgiving night. We went on a waitlist for that one night at OKW, and went on the waitlist for every other resort for the entire week. About a month later we got the entire week at BWV. So the waitlist worked for us for that week.

Haven't had a waitlist experience for Thanksgiving. Just wanted to wish you good luck! My DS (16) is in the band and loves it, so I hope you all have a great time! By the way, we'll be at VWL that week...first time ever to have school holidays for the whole week.

DS was in high school band. Now, he's performing in a band at DL and majoring in performance in college. Musical performance is his life! Also, my soft spot-so tell us, when/where is your DS performing? Or is this a fun trip without performing? I'd love to see the band.

A few years back I made a Thanksgiving week ressie at VWL, 1 BR, in late July. I was waitlisted for Tuesday and Wednesday, both came through in late September, within a couple of days of each other.

Hi Simba's mom! I don't have the details of the performances yet (band meeting later this month) but I will be sure to post it! It will be a great experience for them. I see you will be at OKW over Thanksgiving too. Maybe we could plan a quick hello later!
