Anyone ever get a deal upgrading to Club when

Good afternoon.

Can I jump in here and ask what an "all access" card is?
We're leaving August 11 for 5 days at Disney, BWV, then onto Universal Royal Pacific for 4 more nights. So very excited. Haven't been to Universal in years and years. Our son & his girlfriend who live on the other side of the country from us, are flying in to join us, they are BIG Harry Potter fans. I'm trying to learn all I can about Universal but haven't heard about this all access card before. Anyone want to fill me in on the details?

thanks much!

i read some homies staying at hrh recieved a free all access card last summer.

but that card is different from the one you can buy online as it is limited on what you received.

when i bought mine about 6 years back, it came with the hrcafe back pack,
pin, loaded points card with a $25 credit on it, and all access card.

the ones given out at hrh is the card only.
maybe some got the pin but can't remember that thread from last summer.

it's worth it.
i collect hr pins.

you get the 10% discount at all hrc and hr stores on purchases.
dropped too much money on pins again last year.

We got upgraded to Club access for free the last time we stayed at the Hard Rock. It was our anniversary and it was back when they were doing the renovations, so 2006, maybe? The clerk still put us in a standard room, but it was older and on the same floor as some of the construction. So we got another key thingie that allowed us to access the Club floor and lounge. It was very nice, had just been reopened, and it was wonderful to go grab a drink or snack on our way in and out, and the hors d'ouvres in the evenings were vastly superior to Disney offerings.

I loved it, but still can't see paying the price difference. Now, there was a large family that we would see every day in there, they got their money's worth. They would traipse in every morning in their robes, and clean OUT the breakfast offerings. Ditto each evening. We would go in to grab a bite just to tide us over til we could get to a restaurant, and they were munching down family-style, seriously using the food as their evening meal. I thought that was frowned upon, but live and let live. As long as I got a cookie and some ice cream, i was happy!

Well we got our transportation confirmation email last night. The company we chose for round trip service from the train station has a free 30 minute grocery store stop. So we will just pick up snacks, water, beer, etc and not spend the money for club. (But I will probably still inquire...who knows maybe we will get a free upgrade too) If we do...I will be happy to donate the items we bought to any homie staying at HRH! :O)

We got the same card, but it didn't benefit us one bit otherwise. Very disappointing.

Thanks, that would be great as we are only doing 1 night there before Disney

Well you can check out but have the hotel hold your things downstairs. That would probably be better than late check out. We will check out on our last day and have them hold everything downstairs first thing in the am, then go to the parks. Our train doesn't leave until 7:30pm so we will spend the day in the parks and then grab our stuff load up the car and head to the train station.
