I just read the information...my 2 dd's would absolutely love this! I know it's pricey. But I will have my 11 & 5 yr old & most likely this will be our last "all princess all the time" trip as 11 yr old is growing up. I Would love to do this for them. Has anyone done it? Was it worth your $$$$? Are the dolls like American Girl dolls? tia!

I did it with my 8 yr old DD in November of last year. She LOVED it. It was pricey but worth every penny. The doll is the size of the American Girl doll, but not the quality. They do sell this doll in the parks. Your DD's will love it. Janet2K has a detailed trip report on this event, so do a search on it. The tea was great, the food, well, I wasn't there for the food.

Does anyone know if there are any other princesses? Just princess Aurora? I'm still not sold on this....can anyone compare it to the Tea Party?? If I can buy the doll in the park, they may have more fun at the tea party

I have not actually attended, but I have been told (several times) that it is just "Rose Petal" and Aurora. Rose Petal sings and sort of runs the show. Each girl gets one minute with Aurora (plus Aurora is there in the room for the duration), a doll, the tea (apple juice and a PBJ) and a bag of stuff, including a scrap book kit. When I first heard about it, I thought my 6 year old would love it-- but it seemed very overpriced. Think total capacity per tea is 25 kids and 25 adults.

Thanks, that was kinda my thinking as well...my girls would be quite upset if we gave up the castle for Princess Aurora!!!!

We did this in April for the same reason you mentioned - my last time to do the whole big princess thing with my almost-8-yr-old dds. So I probably did it more for myself than for the dds but we all loved it. Rose Petal puts on a great show singing and dancing/flitting around with a pianist accompanying her (and at one point he was even taking requests!) but Aurora is not actually there the whole time, she came in about 1/2 or 2/3 of the way through. The "tea party" was great - little dainty tea sandwiches - chicken salad and cucumber for moms and pbj for the kids but in little shapes with everyone getting grapes and cheese and a "fancy" presentation. Moms (and one or two dads) had real tea (and it was REAL tea served with the usual Grand Floridian perfection) and the girls had apple juice but also very elegantly served. Very lovely fancy dessert and plenty of "goodies" in addition to the doll - which, by the way, is the same size as an AG doll but not quite as good quality and she comes dressed in the Aurora costume so if you want other outfits or other princess costumes for the doll you have to buy them. But since the tea party ends, in usual Disney fashion, with everyone being directed to the gift shop those purchases can be made quite easily. But in the shop the girls also get their dolls' birth certificate and some princess scrapbooking supplies. At the tea party each gil also gets a crown, a wand, a flower and a bracelet. And I just loved the way the staff greets each girl and really make a big deal over them, throwing rose petals, etc. My dds each wore their favorite princess costume (Jasmine, Pocahantas, and Tink) and all the other girls were dressed up, too. Overall, we loved it and I am so glad that I did it because I know my dds would not have gone for it by next year and I really wanted to be able to do it with them. It's now one of my favorite Disney experiences.

Thanks for the input...I think I may just try to set my ps around the princesses....I don't think I'll do the tea party...I think my girls would be disappointed if the only princess there was Aurora. I may look into the 1900Park Faire dinner with Cindy & friends....I have a week and a half before I have to start my ps calls....so I need to decide.

My DD will be a few weeks shy of 3 when we go.

Do you think that she will be too young at 3?

We are going on the free dining plan so I thought I might splurge on the tea party, but I don't want to waste the $ either.

For those who have gone already, were there any 3yo there?

Thanks.

To be honest I would wait a year or 2 - we went in May and really enjoyed it - DD is 8 and loved all the fuss however we had a mom and dad with a 3 year old at our table and she just wasn't into it- none if it really held her attention for too long - They left a little early cause their DD had enough and just couldn't sit still any longer. I would wait until your DD was a little older since it is so expensive - you want her to be able to enjoy it.

Scrappiemom--That is exactly what we are doing! We are booking a Cinderella's Gala Dinner at 1900 ParkFare. To my mind, my daughter will have more princess exposure, and we all get a full dinner for less that the cost of just her and me at the tea.

Thanks for the pics, I'm thinking of taking DD she would be five when we go and do this instead of HDD which we've done the last few trips. I think she'll love it.

If you are only going to do one princess event, then you are much better off doing one of the meals. When we went last year we did the 2 princess breakfasts and the tea. We didn't choose, just did it all. Our next trip, which is in August we will be doing both Princess breakfasts. I am debating adding the Princess Gala dinner. That is something we haven't done yet.

Princess Tea Party :wizard: We loved it! We were there at Christmas and my dd 8yr birthday is on the 26th .I did this instead of a birthday party for her at home. She loves her My Disney Girl doll, she aleady had the Asian girl that looks like her and it is her favorite doll , she has taken many photos with doll in matching costumes Tinkerbelle, Minnie etc.I specially bought the Aurora costume for Halloween and saved it for the tea . Personally we enjoy the character doll costumesfrom disney long after she outgrows her own size , the doll can still fit her dress! I do think the girl should be about 5 years old and up to 50 , oops Im 52 and i think I enjoyed it as much if not more than her...I would say it is more of a private small lparty type of affair than the other meals but we do those too, my kids priority is characters Ithink even more than the rides. I save my change in a jar before our trip for this one .

We did this the day before DD's 5th birthday. She loved it, and so did I. One part even made me a little teary -- yeah, I'm a sap -- but there's just something about a room full of little princesses rocking their baby dolls to the tune "Baby Mine" that just gets to me every time I think about it.

I think a mature 4-year-old would be the youngest I'd take because it can get pretty overwhelming. Sensory overload, a friend of mine would say. I also don't think I would take a child older than about 9 or 10. Some of the activities, like the adorable "parade" through the room would probably not be as much fun for an older girl, who might fancy herself too "grown-up" to want to participate.

I think 5 was the perfect age for my DD to attend, given her level of maturity at the time. She wasn't too young/shy to actively participate (I don't think she would have done as well a year ago), yet she still believed that Aurora and even Rose Petal were the real thing (I don't think she would have bought into the whole concept without skepticism a year or two from now). Admittedly, the perfect age for this falls within a pretty narrow window, but if you take your DD(s) then, it will truly be magical -- and worth every penny! -- for both of you.

I am giving the the Princess Tea Party as an early Christmas gift to my DD's. I think I will wrap up new princess dresses with an "official" invitation to the tea. We love all the other "royal" meals. I like 1900 Park Fare because you actually get to meet Prince Charming. The meals we have had there have been very good and the characters seemed to be less hurried. The characters also come around more than once. I will admit here to my fellow disers that these events are really as much for me as for my dd's! princess:
