Anyone ever do this or is it a hairbrained scheme I am thinking about?

No, I'm not at all concerned about keeping another family from making a reservation. ......I prefer to be concerned about things that are much more important to me.

You are right, I apologize.

Here's another hug for you.

My, that bit of editing you did hansel1 certainly changed the sense of what Inkmahm was reasonably trying to put across! I've read every word of this thread without contributing up to now but your post just jolted me into action.

Count me as one who thinks the idea (for those who want the hassle and that wouldn't be me!) is quite a good one and not at all unethical. It's business - goods and services offered and purchased legally and without dishonesty or deceit - plain and simple. Nothing more to add :upsidedow

How about quoting the WHOLE quote rather than changing the meaning of my response?

No, thanks.

Don't judge me by YOUR standards of what is important enough to care about. No, I'm not at all concerned about keeping another family from making a reservation. The playing field is level. If that family wanted the reservation as much as the person who booked it just to get the free dining, they COULD have booked it first. They didn't? Too bad. I prefer to be concerned about things that are much more important to me- my family, my church, funding research to cure various diseases, funding our local zoo, the girl scouts, United Way, etc. The money I save by getting "deals" etc. allows me to be generous to charities of MY choice, which doesn't include families that want a trip to WDW in a value resort.

Thank you for your valid opinion. It's always nice to jolt another into action.

I don't think that telling people they sold their soul or promised their first born to disney is reasonable. That was clearly a jab at others with a differing opinion. When people post their opinion, other's tend to bash it or ridicule the poster. For instance, the poster who made fun of people who cared about "the system". I will stand up with others who feel that you should care about the system. If you aren't mindful of the system it will eventually crumble.

If someone wants to make an argument using valid logic and some form of knowledge with regards to the topic, they should be allowed to. The problem comes when people ridicule others for it. Whether it be by words or smilies.

My recent post was validating an observation that Inkmahm had an egocentric attitude towards others. Whether Inkmahm's posts were edited or not, they did not change the sense of what was put across. I was merely pointing out that my observation was not intended as an insult as there are instances of egocentrism in the posts of Inkmahm.

I had apologized and that was not good enough.

And since you read every word of this thread you would know that I never said the OP's suggestion was unethical.

I did this last year and the CM making the reservation actually recommended it to me. She said a friend of hers had already done it. I booked a Value Resort (we stayed in the room) and paid for a 1 day ticket for each of our party. We got the free dining for the entire stay. You never activate your ticket, so it never expires. Later we upgraded the 1 day ticket to an AP.
Cool!

I still think you need a hug.

Again, quote the WHOLE thought:
I didn't sell my soul or promise my first born child to Disney when I became a DVC member, unlike some of you seem to have done. Disney is still a business, that's it. If they have something for sale (hotel rooms) and I buy it, Disney has no room to complain. What I do with it is none of their business (within reason, and NOT staying in a room I'm paying for is certainly within reason.)

Whether Inkmahm's posts were edited or not, they did not change the sense of what was put across.
Add liar to the list of your "qualities." I'm actually surprised the moderators haven't stopped you yet.

How about quoting the WHOLE quote rather than changing the meaning of my response?

I do think you are egocentric. And your whole quote even further proves it.

Read your post again and tell me how it does not convey you as having little or no regard for interests, beliefs, or attitudes other than you own.

And please, tell me how I changed the meaning of your response when you said this: "I didn't sell my soul or promise my first born child to Disney when I became a DVC member, unlike some of you seem to have done."

And since you think I have judged you already, here you go:

"You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting", its from a KNIGHTS TALE. A pretty good movie that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good musical type movie with action.

Unless you have proof that I am lying, i would prefer that you not promote such libel posts.

No, thanks.

There's your proof.

There's your proof.

Proof that I'm not a liar. The sentence wasn't even taken out of context. You aren't concerned about keeping another family from making a reservation. You are concerned with only your situation, which makes you egocentric.

Which part of this list did you not understand? "I am concerned about
my family, my church, funding research to cure various diseases, funding our local zoo, the girl scouts, United Way, etc. "

OK. Enough. This thread has outlived its usefulness and is now closed.
