I bruised 3 bones in my ankle/foot area. I never heard of a bruised bone before. Does anyone know how long this takes to heal? I also tore ligaments and have tendonitis.

Wow! You really did a number on yourself.

I have heard of people bruising their tailbones, but haven't experienced it myself.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

I bruised two bones on my ankle region when a car door got slammed on me as I was getting in. I honestly cannot remember how long it took to heal but I would say it took a couple weeks for it to not hurt constantly. After that it was very sensitive to the touch even months later. I am sure you know the pain, but it is like nothing else I've ever felt before. And like you, I didn't even know it was possible until I got the x-ray done and the doc told me the bumps were not breaks, but bruises on the bone.

Sorry you hurt yourself so badly... I hope you heal up quickly!

My Ankle is a mess. I only hope I can walk okay in Disney when we go in 4 weeks. I've googled bruised bones and really can't find much on them. I did see notes on bruised bones taking up to 12 weeks to heal.

I've bruised bones in the past but the one that really comes to mind is when I locked shins with another player while playing soccer (this was before shin guards came into the picture) as we were both running full speed for the ball. She was carried off the field by two others while I hobbled. It took about a week before my pain subsided substantially, but to this day, whenever it gets really cold, I can feel the ache. Hopefully, your bruising isn't as severe and you won't have the long term effects.

Hope you feel better soon...I would imagine the torn ligament and tendonitis is equally as painful.

I fell down the stairs and bruised my tailbone and it took a couple of months before it didn't hurt to sit down!

It's been about a year and a half now and I can still feel it when I've been sitting in a hard chair for to long or if the weather is damp and cold.

I also had bruised ribs from a roller coaster that made it hard to breath deeply for about a month.

I'm not a fan of bruised bones, they really hurt for a while.

::yes:: I bruised one of the bones in my elbow 22 years ago. The initial pain subsided in about a week or so but to this day, this elbow gives me grief. It is a very accurate barometer and I always know when a weather front is coming through. It is very stiff with inclement weather and dull soreness. Hope your ankle feels better soon!
