The FAB Disney pickles are all I have talked about at work this week. We start our holiday tomorrow. Would love to sneak these home!!! Anyone have any luck with this??
I'm on my phone, so I can't see if your home location is under your avatar. How far is home for you? Flying? Driving? I've brought pickles home before, it is about a 7 hour drive for us.
Uuuummm. Hard to say. We brought back candy apples in feb and customs was going to make us throw them out, but the instant tears from DD must have softened his heart because he let her keep them. It is a $1500 fine if you sneak them in and get caught. I would not spend a fortune and then if they make you throw them out it won't be a great loss.
HMMMM...this could be a problem for me as I was planning on bringing back a candy apple for my DS9 from DL in Nov, and I live in Canada too. Have brought back food with no problems before, and I always declare what food items I'm bringing back into Canada with me. Am going to have to contact Canada Customs before my trip and get clarification on what foods are allowed into our country. Thanks for the heads up.
I think their biggest concern is with seeds, which is why they would be picky about apples. Pickles though, that's a gray area. I think if you had one or two and said you were going to have them as a snack on the plane, it probably wouldn't be a problem. If you brought a whole jar, with the liquid, they would probably make you dump out the liquid, but I'm not sure about the pickles themselves.
Never in a million years.
I don't think even a pickle fanatic would do it. Aren't there great pickles where you live?
Or, just eat them while you're there and enjoy the heck out of them. They will remain special for Disneyland. It's kind of how I am with corndogs. I never eat them, unless I'm there. Then I have to have one. It's ruined all other corndogs for me. I'd rather wait and have one perfect corndog.

What kind of pickles are we talking about here??
Are they your just run of the mill dill pickles - assuming that nothing is really run of the mill at Disney! or are they something different?? I just can't imagine a pickle being THAT good that one would want to smuggle them home! OR are they the deep fried variety that most hockey concessions have up here in Canada?? Someone please fill me in on the pickle dilema!!
To the OP. A solution might be to make your own pickles. They are easy to make and taste very good. Well worth your time and effort. Now for one of the best store bought pickles I have ever had try Farmers Garden Pickles by Vlasic. They are in a canning jar with some carrots and red peppers (not many just for color). They are spendy for a jar of pickles but so worth it. I never use these when used as a chopped ingredient but with a hamburger or sandwich --- yum yum--.
Lol. I was talking about the great big pickles they sell at all the fruit stands through out the parks. We got home yesterday. I had a pickle my first day and was so disappointed I didn't have another one my entire trip!!! Lol. It's been 4 yrs since I was there but I remember them being better than that!! Thanks for all the posts!'n
