I had to paper file this year I would rather have e filed. Anyway, IRS website finally acknowledged they received my forms but said there is a delay and not to expect my refund until the 2nd week of April. I mailed the forms middle of Febuary. I am bummed. Did anyone else paper file and have a delay? It's going to take 2 month for my refund! I want to pay off some bills and use some of the money for a vehicle. I really want to take a trip to Disney but I am being a responsible adult and paying the bills.

I still have to wait another month...unless they are just giving themselves extra time "incase" they need it. Maybe they will surprise me and process it on time! Dreaming.....:hippie:

I mailed my paper tax forms (although i'm getting direct deposit and not a paper check) on March 4. When I checked the "Where's my Refund?" on irs.gov yesterday, it said: "We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless there is a processing delay or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by April 19, 2011."

Did you itemize your deducations? Maybe that held it up. :confused3

For a paper filing, I don't think that's really much of a delay. I thought I saw that paper-filers should expect their refunds 6-8 weeks after filing, which is about the timeframe you listed.

I paper filed at the end of January and got my return in 3 wks direct deposited to my acct.

We efiled and ours was supposed to be here by the first week in march, it got delayed. we got it a week later though. But I did hear that if you didn't file yet, you may not even get it back this year (YIKES!) For some reason, they're having issues with new tax laws being passed. You may get it earlier, never know.

We e-filed and it was accepted on Feb 15. At this I have spoke to the IRS on multiple occasions (the WMR site said to call in) and I have finally been told that they have no idea when our refund will be complete. If you had the 1st Time home buyers loan (the loan, not the credit) then you had to start paying it back this year. According to the rep I spoke with there is a processing coding error that is kicking all of these into a separate error department and not allowing them to go through. They have no idea when this "glitch" will be fixed.

We have the same message you do and we filed around the same time you did. I have already received state and school district refunds. The only thing we had different on ours this year was we bought new windows and received the $1500.00 tax credit.

Filed just like you and have the same message! So frustrating! Already have state money back. I had a simple return. I am waiting on that money for my Disney trip!!!

Check the IRS site every Wednesday, when it's updated.
Last week, ours said to expect it around April 16th, and today it said March 20th.
Maybe they put in a date 8 weeks from receiving it, and update it as it moves through the system?
We paper filed mid/late February and are having it direct deposited.

I just rechecked mine and it went from April 12th to now being mailed on March 25th:cool1:

We e-filed on 2/14.got an email it was accepted 2/16. was told our refund would be in our account 2/25 then changed to 3/1 then to 3/8. and then it said we should be received a notice from the IRS.

I called yesterday and she said they mailed the notice 3/14. they received our taxes on 2/22! and we should be getting our money 3 weeks from that date..which would be this friday 3/18 (I'm not holding my breath)

I have a friend who works at H&R Block and she did our taxes this year. She e-filed and they were accepted the same day. Deposited in our account less then a week later. However, we amended our return for the 1st time homebuyers CREDIT and I think that is going to take a long time.

Yes you really should file through E-Mail. It is fast and easy. It is the fsatest way to get the money back. We e file every year and have it wired directly into our account within two weeks.

I just checked today for an update and now instead of a date like yesterday, it said the IRS is requesting more information. We need to provide it in 30 days. Great, now when should I get mt refund?!!! We itemized and we could not e file since we have an adoption claim. I thought I included everything...I will just have to wait and see what's needed. It is so much easier to e file......

Mine now says the 18th of March! Woo hoo! It said April 12th or there abouts last week. I filed it sounds like maybe a week earlier then the OP!

We paper filed around the middle of February. I checked this afternoon and our refund is scheduled to be deposited this Friday, 3/18. We'll see...

I e-filed my return on Feb 15th and was accepted on Feb17th but of course due to HBC,I am still waiting for refund. On "Where's My Refund" my status hasn't changed in a week, still says "Your return has been accepted and is being processed" Ref #1301.Sooo frustrating.Kids are on break and we sit!!

I received the same message with ref number 1301. Called the IRS number provided and they said to call in another 30 days if we had not received our refund. :scared1: We also were to begin repayment of the 1st time homebuyer loan/credit and there is a computer problem. I am soooooooo frustrated!

We set up our deductions so we get a small Federal refund and make a small State payment. I could care less if it comes a week or 6 months from now since it makes no impact on our overall budget whatsoever. We use snailmail and haven't sent it out yet but I am thinking about it.

On the adoption forums I frequent this seems to be a common issue. When people call in they are getting answers of when they'll receive it anywhere from June to September!!! The guy I spoke to said once it goes to review that it would delay your refund for 1-2 more weeks....YEA RIGHT. Everyone that has been sent to review is STILL waiting.
