have a Christmas Walk? Our's is tonight but it is suppose to rain all day, not sure if I will take DDs out. We may go to the movies instead. I love the Christmas Walk. The businesses are open and have cookies, chocolates and drinks. The Courthouse has cheese and vegetables. Santa is at the Chiropractors. Bell players and choirs are along the street. For a small fee there is the carriage rides. I really hope the rain stops:rolleyes:

Not that I'm aware of. It sounds like a great thing though.:) I hope the rain holds off for you.:sunny:

We have a night-time Christmas electric parade. Every year we've tried to go it was either raining or minus 10 degrees. They show it on local public access. That's the closest we come.

Sounds great. We usually drive by and see christmas lights. Your night sounds better.

Boss took tonight off so I can't go.. (Make that 3 threads on page 1..:duck: )

Our town lights their old oak tree every Friday after Thanksgiving - the HS chorus sings and stores are open with cookies/cider/Santa. It's quaint - but I haven't gone since older DS was in chorus!

Is that where people in cars drive by unsuspecting pedestrians, pelt them with fruitcake, and drive off?

Our little town is having, "Christmas In The Village" tomorrow. The town has residents of around 3000-4000 - but the figure is added by 6,000 when the Univeristy students are here.

We used to be called a town - but now some marketing genuis at the University thought it would be quaint for us to be a village.....

Our town has a parade the first Sat. of Dec. (tomorrow!!) and Santa arrives to set up residence in one of the buildings. They serve cider, hot chocolate.

We used to have a tree lighting ceremony. I wonder what happened to that

I guess that's why I REALLY want to stay inside on this snowy day, when the kids want to go out and play in it!

Thanks Alan, that was a great visual!

Our town has a tree lighting tonight complete with a parade, carriage rides and roasting chestnuts (yuck). We were going to go but it's supposed to be raining or snowing tonight. I hope it holds out until later tonight.
