Anyone else worried about fall supplies?

i get all my foil pans at the dollar store. they have a wealth of sizes and can be bundled with as many as 3 to a $1 package. in some cases if you need a specific size it can end up being cheaper to buy their metal baking pans. at $1 each they are less expensive than wamart's for foil and can be used for multiple times (i've taken to buying a dozen non stick cookie sheets at a time-i feel absolutely no remorse when one goes south after a dozen or so uses b/c it cost me less than an foil pan).
Never even thought to check Dollar Tree style places thanks 😊

I happen to see Micoban at shoprite today. Never saw it before. Never heard of it untill about a month ago, so of course, I got a can. I saw someone else here saying they picked up a can every time they saw one. Tell me about it. I see it says items will stay "clean" even after multiply touches for 24 hours.

.....and speaking of chicken; that was very hard to find this past spring!!

But now today when DH and I did our shopping at a local Meijer most meat especially beef was gone which was odd. As other posters have said the paper towels and tissue aisles were looking quite empty, too.

Our stores are pretty good on meat, TP is pretty good... not as much variety as normal, but usually something available to buy. I have found my preferred brand at Target or Walmart online. But paper towels & tissues have been scarce for weeks too. Name brand hand soaps are still hard to find too. There has been some generic stuff or the Mrs. Meyers, but not even a lot of that most days. Luckily I found Softsoap refill bottles at BJs & should be good for awhile. I was glad to see that the soup aisle at our Wegmans was finally full again last week.

Air freshener sprays have been out for almost a month. I read something about aluminum shortages, so maybe it‘s a lack of cans? I just thought that was a weird thing to be missing. I know our stores are getting wipes in occasionally, but you need to be there at opening & they sell out quick. Same for Lysol spray. I have seen some Germ-X small bottles. But most of the hand sanitizers at our grocery stores are the kind made by distilleries. Haven’t seen Purell anywhere.

My dh just sent me a picture from the store. Very sparse shelves in places.
He couldn't get frozen corn
taco kit
honey nut Cheerios
Who knows what else. Hoping this will not be a trend around here.

Where are you located?

Still cannot find Clorox/Lysol wipes or Lysol spray. I, a teacher and still have my pre-COVID stock that I had purchased for school back in February, so I’ve brought most of that to school with me, but I’m all ways looking for more. Also hand wipes (sanitizer is ok but tends to dry out my hands, the wipes re much gentler) and alcohol wipes (got the last pack at Target the other day) or isopropyl alcohol to make my own wipes (using baby wipes). I want to have those on hand at school to clean Chromebooks regularly.

Your school isn't supplying any of that for you?

Weird. Is this the second wave of paranoia? I used to think that Lone Gunmen on the X-Files were the rare odd balls. When did they go mainstream?

My DH Is in manufacturing/automation, and it's not hoarding - it's disruptions in the supply chain. Factories that make supplies to make things (plastic packaging, cardboard, etc) have to shut down because of COVID infection, which disrupts things down the line. In our area, large meat packing plants have had to shut down for cleaning/disinfection, which lowers output. As the pandemic gets worse in the US this fall, further disruption is likely to happen.

We were at Costco this weekend and very limited supply paper towels. In our local grocery stores (lots chain stores) limited amount of paper towels. My target still has many empty shelves. Meat supply hasn't been an issue in months but I do think it's combination of supplies being routed to other areas (such as schools) and increase in demand as fall/winter comes and people get nervous.

Meat supply is still an issue by me. My local bbq place can’t source the high quality meat like they were able to do before COVID. Their food isn’t as good as it once was.

We need to go to Costco again really soon and last time they didn't have paper towels....I was hoping they would the next time we go but your post makes me think maybe it'll still be the same as that last time :(

There was very limited supply of Costco brand paper towels and limited supply of bounty but plenty TP. I've been looking for viva PT at grocery store just because that what I normally use but went ahead and picked up a PT at Costco. I think the most interesting thing is it seems every cart in Costco had PT/TP in it. I do think people are starting to keep stock pile at home for just in case. I went ahead and ordered our TP from Costco online just because it's not carried in the store.

Both the Microban TV ads and their website has this disclaimer about their product.........................

Microban 24 does not provide 24-hour residual protection against any viruses.

Not exactly sure what that means since the basis of their product seems to imply that is what it does.

Last time we went toilet paper was in plenty of stock but limited to 1 (which is goes back and forth from that limit to no limit listed). I saw some people with it in their carts but not everyone (like I've seen before back in Spring).

However, they didn't have any paper towels at all no bounty or kirkland brand (which is what we get). We're down to 2 rolls left and given that they are quite large it's not dire but it's getting close. I guess I could pick up a small package from the grocery store the next trip if I happen to see them in stock. I haven't actually looked at grocery store paper towels since Costco adjusted their Kirkland brand to being more the select a size. They used to be these giant sheets that were just too large but then they added the perforation to them and it's been perfect.

i'm thinking that folks might want to grab the flour they need for holiday baking sooner vs. later. there were problems with finding flour in previous months but i suspect the loss of so much of the recently harvested wheat along with the not yet harvested due to the wildfires in our region may make a significant impact on availability (my neck of the woods supplies just shy of 50% of all u.s. wheat).

I could not get frozen corn for months but found some last week
Cleaning supplies - forget it / all stores are wiped out if all brands I won’t be cleaning my toilets soon - I could order online but the price should be illegal as they want $30 for 6 cleaning tablets 😳 or $15 for bottle of toilet cleaner !!!
I can get TP and paper towels which I am thankful
I must say I dread grocery shopping it involves 4 stores just trying to obtain basic items - root beer took me 3 months !! It’s just the oddest thing what becomes hard to find - my choc coffee - 3 months - you don’t know what you should stock up on as you have no idea what every day item may become hard to obtain
As for cleaning I guess I will go the old fashion way and use my dawn soap and vinegar until I can’t buy them any more !!
I know in the big scene of life people are struggling with losing jobs life their homes so I will be thankful for what I have and try to rise above this but seriously it’s a pain
Good Luck and Good Health to All I hope you find what you need !!! 👍😎

Flour, and especially yeast, are still hard to find in my area.
Not as bad as disinfecting wipes and sprays, though. (I still have yet to see Clorox or Kirkland wipes from Target and Costco since pretty much this whole thing started. One has to be lucky to be in the stores on the right day and time to have a chance.)

My local stores are still rationing all sorts of things like meats and especially cleaning items, but that's ok I've grown accustomed to pacing things out and shifting away from plastics and single use paper towels. Bought a few spray bottles to convert bottles of cleaner into spray for the bathrooms. I can make my own portable wipes by folding a few paper towels and adding a bit of cleaner and water (damp not soaking) to a ziplock but this is rarely needed since I just wipe most things down with dish detergent and a washcloth and leave the suds left behind to dry on cabinet pulls and doorknobs, supposedly this is fine as long as you let the less potent mix sit longer, so I do.

This thread gave me the heads up on pumpkin being in short supply so I picked up the bare minimum for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, there are things I need to tolerate but I am NOT giving up my holiday traditions if I can help it. I may not be able to get the big turkey that leads to a week of leftovers and endless soup, time will tell what the supply chain does, but we'll be just fine with a little Butterball roast and I can whip up some baked goods so I got what I usually pick up in October now :).

I've seen multiple pallets few different times of clorox surface cleaner big bottle refill at Costco in the cleaning section. I've never seen the elusive lysol spray but we never used it before and I'm not starting now.
