Anyone else who can't wait for Elf on the Shelf to start this year????

I went to a craft fair today and met the lady who did the illustrations for Elf on the Shelf.

My daughter wants to touch the elf, and she was selling the stuffed doll version of the elf. It comes with a tag that says:

I'm not the Elf on the Shelf that you know

I do not fly through the ice and the snow.

My job is simply to stay here and play.

You can touch me and squeeze me and love me all day.

It is called a Plushee Pal and she even signed it.

http://mookiegifts.com/plusheepalelf.html here is what he looks like.

I saw this Elf yesterday at Barnes and Nobles it was the last one and I fell in love with him:lovestruc he is perfect needless to say he was the last one left:cool1:
He made his grand entrance this morning with the letter posted above my DD went nuts when she saw him:goodvibes, I'm giving the first one I found to my sister, it's funny searched high and low for my first Elf I go to b&N for a book and find the Elf on a Shelf plush :sad2:

My girls were trying to snoop at gifts today, and were busted. So, tonight our elves are on strike. They have candy cane signs that say "Snooping makes Rudolph's nose not glow", "Snooping might put you on the naughty list", "No Snooping" and "Make cookies, no snooping".

My girls should be glad they didn't email Santa. Just sayin'. ;)

Love it!!!!!

As far as just the books... I found one at our Marc's store. Just one left. Marc's is an odd mish mosh discount store here in Ohio.. mostly overstock as far as regular merchandise...

I got just the book for $1.99 and it was randomly placed amongst other books.....

Honestly? Don't stress to find it. I don't think the book's that great at all....

I made a book for my niece and nephew with photos/words in word. I printed it and bound it in a presentation folder.. they loved it. They've had it 2 years now and I could put THEIR photos in the story.

And now I do letters from santa reminding them why Jingle comes and when he'll leave and why he'll leave little presents for them (If they're extra good) and that he might be naughty (he only gets to leave the north pole once a year.. and it's to visit them!)

They LOVE it.

A question... Jingle leaves a little gift .. even if it's a piece of candy... every morning. I guess I Have it easy as my niece and nephew are only over 4-5 days a week, but does anybody else do this? Jingle doesn't do as much "funny/fun" stuff as do things related to that gift.

The kids are at such a fun age (3 and 7).. the magic is so real to them:) I LOVE IT!!!!!

Any more updates on your elves??? Mine has been busy--he set up the kid's new Tag reading system last night and read books to his buddies (he got a great deal at Barnes and Noble with 75% off books) and he left new markers tonight (that he picked up for $1 during the summer school sales), with a special picture he drew for them. He also made mini cupcakes and made a sleigh out of reindeer. He'd like more ideas, though... My kids seem to be loving this elf thing--so glad I gave it a try this year!

Jingle the elf was in bed with Mommy this morning when DS8 got up for school. He is always up way before Mom opens her eyes. It was super cold last night in Louisiana so Jingle was trying to warm up under the down comforter with the parents. Apparently she also stayed up late reading the latest book in the Magic Tree House series. ; ) .

She just told me that she was hungry for Captain Crunch Christmas cereal in the morning, looks like we know what she and DS are having for breakfast.

Love all of the ideas.

So far our elves Peppermint and Gumdrop have done the following::

gotten into the headbands and were found wearing the girls head bands.
put flour all over the kitchen counter and wrote good job with their math tests next to the elves.
gotten into our puzzles and left two new puzzles for the girls.
the elves were all tangled up in the Christmas Paper Chains.
the elves were tangled in the red beads that hang on our stair-case.
Tonight, Peppermint and Gumdrop have light up Christmas glasses for the girls to drink out of tomorrow morning so not sure what to have them do with the glasses.
