Anyone else watching The Bachelorette?

Okay, I just have to say this...

I will preface by saying that I am NOT a DeAnna fan... I am not crazy about her at all, and I have no interest in promoting her or defending her image...

However, I simply see no strong basis for the DeAnna bashing!!! :confused3

Sure she can be a bit emotional at time...
Sure she can be a bit direct and outspoken at times..

We all are the way we are... And, she is really upfront about who she is.

But I do not see where she has been controlling, manipulative, selfish, or has screwed anybody.....

I think Graham is 'Damaged Goods', and if he thinks that he has been open with DeAnna, or anyone else in his life, he is deluded and needs some professional help. DeAnna has been HOT for his looks... I am just wondering if she is not also hot for him because she has some underlying issue with choosing men who are not psychologically and emotionally available. (to her, or to anybody else...) I see a pattern there with her falling for Brad and then her falling for Graham.

Truth be told, both Ryan and Graham took some SERIOUS digs at her... Actually deflecting their own very serious problems/issues onto her, like it was HER problem that things did not work out for them. Ummmm YEAH RIGHT... I think DeAnna was completely justified in how she handled their downright verbal attacks.... I blame THEM.. How could they make some of the comments that they made to her... Not cool.

Like I said, I am not crazy about her... didn't really like her on the Bachelor.. But I tuly see no real basis for DeAnna bashing... I think it is just an example of how woman can be so immature and 'catty'... Always clawing at another woman's back...

Anyhow, I had thought that this was the LAMEST episode of bacherlor/bachelorette EVER... Until last week!!!!

I can't say I have any good idea about what might happen, but there are have definitely been some interesting twists and turns!!!!

It could be real... or it could ALL be set up by the producers... Never know.. Reality TV is not 'real'....

I do find it interesting that they have NEVER mentioned any positive words about the ending, like 'proposal' or 'engagement'... (when they desperately need another success story...) But, now, all of the sudden.. after the men tell all... All kind of innuendo is swirling... Anything is possible, and I do think that it is possible that DeAnna and Graham managed to get together at the taping of that episode... We all know that HE (no matter now distant and 'damaged') is the one that DeAnna has wanted.

I hate to admit that I have been drawn in by this stupid show.. but I will be watching!!!

I think a lot of it IS her personality. I don't know about anyone else, but when Trista was on, I was rooting for her to find love. I'm happy her and Ryan are together.

I find Deanna a bit narcisistic. Yes, the show is about her, but there's a difference than being about her.

I completely agree. I don't hate the girl but she's pretty shallow and she's a completely different person now than she was on the Bachelor! When DeAnna was on the Bachelor does anyone else remember her being really brash, controlling, manipulative and confrontational? I'm sure someone's mentioned it on this thread already but she was the one always starting trouble with the other girls and trying to steal Brad away. Unfortunately she got burned in the end but she had no trouble screwing the other girls over to get what she wanted. Now all of a sudden she's playing the "I'm just a sweet country girl who doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings" card and I'm not buying it. Don't get me wrong, I do like DeAnna but there's just something off about her. You saw how she threw a fit as soon as the guy's attention wasn't on her... I still believe that she's there more so for the attention and the camera time than to actually find love. Trista was down-to-earth and genuine but DeAnna thrives on the drama and I think that's what she's there for :confused3

We all are the way we are...
Yes, we are. :confused3 You can say that about anyone in any situation, but I'm not buying it as an excuse for negative behavior. And I don't think that these observations about her constitute immaturity and cattiness on the part of the observer. If I picked apart her face or how she looks in a bathing suit, yes. But if my observation is that she comes off as a snotty ***** sometimes, and I'm not buying "that's just the way she is" as an excuse, then it's just that...an observation.

I think one can tell it like it is without being insensitive and *****y, particularly to people that she allegedly had feelings for. As I've said before, on the Bachelor she was often in the middle of the drama among the women with her dear friend (forgot her name, but she was the one that prompted Brad to wipe off his mouth after she kissed him), sometimes demanding that the other women respond to her questions about what they thought about the other women. Maybe it's because of my (old) age, but at this point in my life, I feel that just because a question's asked, doesn't mean the asker has the right to my answer. Deanna can be a real *****, IMHO. Honest/open is one thing...it's not synonymous with *****.

When I was in HS, I dated on and off a guy named "Mike", who dated on and off a girl named Kim. When he wasn't dating her, he was badmouthing her to me, and I'm sure vice versa. When I met my DH, one of the many wonderful things about him that struck me was that he NEVER badmouthed his former, long-term girlfriend, and she will always have a special place in his heart for her. He respected what they had, and that's very much the type of person he is. Deanna seemed almost gleeful to stick it to these guys publicly.

JMHO

I think we are watching different shows. "gleeful to stick it to them"? I never ever once saw anything even close to that. I never saw her be mean at all.

I understand your points.

I don't see her as manipulative at all. I see her as a lost soul.

I've posted several times that she needs a lot more than a man to find happiness, she needs to find happiness within first.

She is not complete enough to cleave onto another human being. Her losses in life have left her lacking and caused her to have a LIST of wants that no one can fulfill. Tragedy and loss can do that to people.

At this point no one, not Brad, not Graham, not J or J, can give her what she wants. She is an open wound and they cannot bandage her.

I am LIGHT YEARS from catty or immature. I would say the same thing about a male. I actually try to lift up women because I don't tend to envy anyone or anything... but I don't make excuses for them either.

Deanna needs to take a step back, stop going to ELLEN for solace and find someone who can make her realize she's just trying to find peace, a peace she lost too young and too many pains ago.

I'm going away next week and I dvred the episode. Well an interesting thing happened. The bachelorette is on from 8 - 10 and then at 10 to 11 it states the Bachelorette, The two bachelors return to get answers from Dianna about her final desicion. What do you think? I'm thinking she picked Graham why else would they have this show on after she makes her choice.

I think so too! They were pretty harsh to each other during the Men Tell All special last week but that could have been all for the cameras, who knows? After she made her final decision why would both men question her? Wouldn't one be with her and wouldn't the other one just want to move on? Sticking around to whine about why you weren't picked just seems kind of degrading and like something neither of the guys would do, unless there's a huge twist and neither of them are picked. I think she either somehow chooses Graham or she doesn't choose anyone from the show.

And about DeAnna being a lost soul, I don't really see it. I don't like how she seems to crave attention so much but she does know what she wants and none of it's too far-fetched. She wants someone who's open, honest and genuine, has a good job and a good family life, and someone who's ready to get married. She's said it all along and I agree with her list of must-haves. I just don't think she's actually there to find them.

The final show is from 8-10 and the 10-11 is the "After the Final Rose" Show. This used to come on after all of the Bachelors and Bachelorettes, but not as much recently. Here is the Brad and Deanna one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vHa0p-1MwU

Here's the Andy and Tessa one.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4m8Gtl6PTQ

Babie girl is that YOU??

The reason I said she has problems is because of her handling of her Mom's death. She is still mourning and she is still mourning Brad. I've been a grief counselor for over 20 years, I've met so many of her I cannot tell you. They're grasping for recompense, and looking outside of themselves for it.

We all have a list of "must haves", but Deanna has a list of
BETTER DO WHAT I SAY DO's". She's trying to mold people into what she wants them to do for her. That's a recipe for disaster. No one was put on this earth outside of your parents to repair you, uh... especially a SO.

My Mom lost her Dad at 13. She was completely traumatized by it because she had an abusive Mom and her Dad was her safe place. She married my Dad at 16 and demanded he fill all her empty wounds. I watched my Dad try to make my Mom the happiest woman she could be for over 60 years. She would STILL cry about how no one loved her like she wanted them to. We all tried to make her happy. The problem was SHE needed to do that.

Robin, I totally agree. ::yes:: You can't go by what a person says. Of course, consciously, DeAnna's going to have a list of must-haves. But, it's her actions that tell the real story. She is attracted to men who are unavaliable, can't be emotionally there for her, to give her love in the way she craves. Not wants & deserves -craves. BIG difference. If she can get these men to love her, somehow it will make up for Mommy not being there to love her.

Both times, she asked, then begged Brad & Graham to love her, to give her a chance. Maybe you can let it go the first time, because she seemed really confused & thought Brad led her on. But when she was sitting there & pretty much begged Graham in the same way, "Why can't you be there & open up & love me?" people who know the signs know she's speaking about someone else - in this case, her mom. She's projecting all her need for love onto him.

I'll bet this isn't the first two times either. She had to go on a show, for pete's sake, to find a guy. Even Chris Harrison, the host said in the Men Tell All that she was begging. A guy saw it. So, it's not us gals being catty.

Frankly, from the way Graham acted when she was "breaking up with him" I don't think their "relationship" ever went that far for her to respond like that. Even he seemed stunned. I think part of his turning away and not looking at her was partly his own inability to be open & express himself. Another part was just surprised at her over-reaction. She was blaming him for not being the way she wants. "Why can't you open up? Why can't you be there for me?"

Definite projection going on.

So true and SOOOO sad. Another Bachelor trainwreck... but what else is new? :confused3

Ugh!!Another needy, issue-ridden soul as the bachelor?? What are they thinking? I'm not sure who would want to marry into that situation???

I lost where I last read on this thread so I'm not sure if this was mentioned. I saw a preview that showed one of the bachelors coming back to confront DeAnna. It showed him knocking on a door. Of course they didn't show or say who it was.

I'm thinking they all must have some issues. Otherwise why would so many good looking people have such a hard time hooking up or finding the "right" one that they have to go on national tv to do it?

:rotfl:

You've got that right! God doesn't give anyone the whole package.

Rumor has it that Jeremy is going to be the next Bachelor in the fall!

Finally a bachelor I WILL NOT WATCH!!! :lmao: I couldn't STAND looking at his sweaty sharp boned face for an entire season... :scared:

Bring back BRIAN!! Now THAT I'd watch!! :thumbsup2
