Anyone else trying to use online check in today....

I've been trying this morning to use the online checkin for our upcoming 12/30 visit! I get the yellow button from the members page that allows me to go to online checkin...but from there, there is no option to actually checkin online. It is not bringing up the online checkin form even after I enter the confirmation number, resort, etc. I have called member services and they are not aware of any "glitches" in the online check in website. Has anyone else successfully gotten to the online check in today?

It's no big deal if I can't check in ahead of time....but I was so excited that we are finally 10 days away from our vacation.
 
I think there is major system issues today. I tried login in on the dvcmember site and it says system updates being complete cant access my account.
 
Ok so I'm not the only one?

This is my first time doing online check in and I enter the info and it opens the new page, but it just seems like I'm missing something?

No confirmed?

Called in and the foreigner I spoke with made it sound like I was all set?
 
Just read this thread and yes actually I do agree there were some issues today with the site. I was checking inventory and it would only show an error message. MS said it was odd as I explained the error message. They asked if I cleared my browsing history. I have two different memberships and two different user names. This was only happening to one of the accounts. So they were forwarding the information to IT.
 

Online check in is still not working right. I think it has to do with the Disney sites switching over to the new pages. I had a online check in to do on the disneyworld site and I couldn't do it unless I was on the old version not the new. You can tell which version you are on by how many days in advance it says you can do online checkin. If it says 60 it won't work, if it says 10 you are fine. Unfortunately, there is no way to get the old version of the DVC page :(

So I'm reading that you can now ck in 60 days instead of 10

Well last night I magically got the old version. I was getting very frustrated because not only would it not recognize my password, then it couldn't find the reservation, it was just taking a long time. A survey popped up and I vented all the way through, at the conclusion of the survey, the old version magically appeared.

Same thing with the dining adrs. I wanted to see & print all my dining adrs on one page which I could do on the old page. New version, didn't recognize my id, password, reservations & wanted my manually input everything. Really? No way, all of a sudden another survery, vented about how I felt, the overall look and feel & even after I manually input my reservations, they were lost, did not like the new version at all. Magically took me to the old version. Everything showed up & have adrs, reservation, check-in all set now.

It was just frustrating because it shows how a transition or improvement everything can get lost. But at least it worked out in the end.
 
As a newbie, what is the advantage of online checkin versus just checking in when you arrive?

Only advantage is that it allows you to check in at the front desk faster when you get there because they will already have you as checked in and your check-in package and room keys will already be ready. It does not mean your room will be ready before 4. Getting room before 4 is still just luck of the draw.
 
can't do online checkin either. been trying for a few hours.

I get to a page that says "when you are within 10 days of your res - just return to this page to check in."

I am arriving in two days.
 
Unfortunately I am still unable to checkin...and member services says they are not aware of any issues with checkin. This is starting to get frustrating! Guess I will just check in when we arrive on 12/30.
 
I tried online check in today since it didn't work for me yesterday. still nothing. I'll just stand in line with everyone else tomorrow.

I did notice a discrepency on the page.

first they say:
When you're within 60 days of your arrival date, you can simplify your Resort arrival by providing your check-in information online.


then below that they say:
Return to this page within 10 days of your arrival date to use the Online Check-In Service.
 
Same here. Tried checking in on a DVC reservation for next week. Same messages as above.

Still not working today (Sunday 12/23/12). Went in through DVC member site. Ws able to enter confirm #. Next page showed my reservation. But there was nothing to click to do the checkin. This was a problem on Friday too, and MS told me to try Saturday. Which I did. So online checkin hasn't worked for three days for me. We check in Thursday. No big deal, but it is frustrating.
 
When I spoke with member services, they said they do not see any messages from IT support saying that checkin is not working...yet, obviously, as per all the previous posts, it is clearly NOT WORKING. I wonder how long it will take before someone realizes that checkins are not happening for DVC members, and start looking into the bug that is causing this issue. I would hope that someone has created a "ticket" to fix the bug by now!!!
